Ha! Yes. If I had to put money in it, I’d say they’ll run ALC at 2 p/w in Jan before going back to 3 p/w. AGP probably won’t be back until March. **All assumptions based on previous years of course.
BHX to BCN only runs up to mid Jan which gives me some confidence.

Announced today in " Travel Weekly" by Vueling, is "Vueling Holidays" an all in one place booking site, to 30 destinations similar I would think to Easyjet, with the advantage of Avios points when booked through the Vueling site. The aim is to challenge the other mainstream operators, It could lead to more flights and choice from CWL.

We go through the "Vueling pulling out" crisi mode every year. For whatever reason Vueling has been late to the party publishing its Summer schedules and has tinkered with its Winter season off and on during the year over the same period. Seems to be par for the course at the moment and its not just CWL that is subject to these moverments. While there's still money to be made from Alicante and Malaga they'll continue their relationship with CWL for the immediate future.

With them reducing to 2 routes and putting flights onsale often quite late and then changing things quite often it does create a bit of apprehension about their future at Cardiff especially with Ryanair as competition.

Granted, but we are where we are with Vueling today and despite the doom and gloom we regularly hear, they still (eventaully) add more flights each season despite that competition.
They are dropping some of the October Malaga flights it seems. I’ve just had an email saying my Tuesday flight has been cancelled and they moved me to Thursday, which I can’t do - but thankfully Ryanair are operating on the same days! There in is the probable issue where the capacity is all on one day rather than being spread across the week…

Disappointing. It's a shame they didn't change days.
There’s a lot of chat online about Vueling dropping Alicante (and Malaga) at least for the winter. I’ve seen for a week that both routes are off sale after October, but it doesn’t seem like existing bookings have been cancelled. I’m curious what they’re actually doing and whether they have finally pulled the plug on operations at Cardiff.

There's a fair few doom-merchants and know-it-alls calling Vueling's withdrawal as a certainty already, where the truth is nobody knows other than Vueling.
We seem to go through this kind of drama at least twice a year when Vueling either tinker with their schedule or neglect to launch flights for the coming season until the last minute. This time, admittedly, it doesn't look good.
Malaga was already reduced to a short season over Christmas and New Year but to see Alicante disappear without explaination or cancellation is a strange one. Could be a number of reasons - fuels costs, aircraft availability, slots at Alicante, an unwillingness to compete with Ryanair during the winter season, etc, etc... guess we'll find out in due course.
IAG were recently in the news regarding fuel prices hitting their profits. Vueling have always been sketchy in the winter months, albeit alicante being more consistent than malaga. No doubt Ryanair are squeezing them a bit more. Its no surprise marginal routes are being cut as CWL always struggles with winter flights. They still operate a big schedule in summer so it would be a strange move for them to pull out completely.
You only have to go back through this forum to pickup on the completely random scheduling that Vueling does. It's what I use to look at how things happened in the past 🙂
For example, they released Dec 24 & Jan 25 flights to Malaga in Mid October 2024, just 2 months before.
I wouldn't be surprised if they operated Alicante during that same period as well. I just find it bizarre that they often take flights off sale then re-release them, or just release them late. It creates so much confusion and uncertainty if you've booked with them.

It is a weird way of operating thing's. I know times can be changed etc but if you're going to change schedules then do it at the same time. Just creates confusion otherwise.

Its crazy as you say. The only reasonable explaination is that their routes to and from Cardiff are so far down their priority list, that they are amongst the first to be suspended "in case" aircraft and crew may be needed elsewhere, only to be reverted back to Cardiff when they are not. Like most European airlines, Vueling's planned maintenance programme usually taking place during in the Winter months so this could be the reason.
Clutching at straws here admittedly as only Vueling know what they are doing and the reason why they are so hap-hazard when it comes to schedule planning at Cardiff.
It also means Vueling are already on the back foot through their own doing when trying to compete with Ryanair on the same routes.

Seemingly the Cardiff Airport W26/27 schedule has dropped Vueling Alicante & Malaga from it so it’s highly probable they WILL NOT operate any flights this coming winter to Cardiff.
It was updated today!
Still to be confirmed whether this is a full withdrawal from Vueling or if they will return for Summer 27. Wait for the official confirmation!

If Cardiff Airport have taken the time to remove the Vueling lines from their website's winter schedule then its safe to assume they have been told first hand by the airline that the flights have indeed been withdrawn.
Vueling's tinkering and late seat releases havn't helped but the writing was on the wall when IAG's announced plans to flatten route growth for the remainder of the year to offset losses due to the rising price of jet fuel. Its unsurprising that low priority routes such as those at Cardiff are the ones to make way for more profitable services.
It is a shame after all these years and a significant blow to Cardiff Airport to lose yet another airline as they will receive the majority of the blame, not Vueling.

If they've taken the time to remove it then I don't see the route happening for the winter. Sadly.
