Flew out to Tenerife yesterday with Jet2. The airport was busy but it was well organised.

We used the free pick up and drop off area which was extremely busy and to be honest, it makes me wonder if they just made the official pick up drop off area cheaper more would use it?

The Jet2 bag drop was fast, security was quick and we were in departures in no time at all. Boarding was efficient and we departed near enough on time.

All in all an excellent experience using LBA, well done!

I returned to Leeds the early hours of Thursday morning from a week in Tenerife. I left a full review of my trip in the main forum but more specifically relating to LBA, our transit through the airport was very good. Check in was smooth and fast. At security one of the security personnel was slightly abrupt with me but other than that it was fine. Mrs Aviador enjoyed spending lots of money in Duty Free, the Leeds United shop and Starbucks. Once done in Starbucks we only had a short time to wait before we boarded.
Returning to LBA we parked remotely and we were transferred to the terminal by bus. Six immigration desks were open and we were in the arrivals hall in no time at all. We waited about 10 minutes for the bags after they first started arriving on the carrosel.
Overall a good experience at LBA but you can clearly see why new larger facilities are needed sooner rather than later. Our experience at Tenerife wasn't particularly great but they have superb facilities and baggage carrosels than are built for larger flights. In Tenerife they had 6 immigration desks open, the same as at Leeds but it seemed a lot less organised.
It's amazing how LBA manages to function so well to be honest but it does. I have to admit I will be glad to see the back of the "bus" shelter and the sooner it goes the better. Maybe it could be put to better use in the car park.

I don't know if the airport is paying some cheap agency to do their social media (Instagram etc) but it's so cringey... It's like a school project.
Again look at LPL airport today posting about an intersting LOT movement for a football gaging interactions and interest. Why can’t LBA post one? Iberia from VLC perfect example. That will gain more interest then how many towels you can fit in a parking spot..

I forgot to mention that I didn't see anything around the terminal showing the airport's plans which is really disappointing. IThe airports should be shouting from the rooftops about the improved terminal on its way. Instead passengers are greated with a tired warn out terminal.

They did say they were going to do something but I doubt it would be anything that causes people to congregate around a display causing a blockage, especially given how restrictive the airport is in the first place. They were going to get the architect to do a fly through video - which could perhaps be shown in screens in the terminal where they could be viewed whilst waiting. If I get a chance I'll ask at the next meeting in September.

Theres a very long billboard on the hoardings for the extension. On your left as you walk up from the car parks- lots of images and info. Tried to post an image without success.

Hate the whole Ey Up nonsense.…whoever came up with it needs sacking!
Yorkshire vocabulary as i call it! "ey up" "by eck" etc etc traditional i agree but for me it brings up images of flat cap farmers, tractorville, old mills, dry stone walls and the like, basically a very old fashioned backwards county, Something a bit similar to what we see in the hale and pace Yorkshire airways comedy sketch.
The yorkshire of today is very much different to the yorkshire of the past esp the leeds region which of course is one of the top cities of the uk in terms of wealth, finance and general importance. So In my opinion the LBA branding simply does not match up with the Yorkshire we live in today.

Next we’ll have a guy with a flat cap and a whippet at customs…

The airport obviously think it will appeal to their typical customer. I assume that must be leisure travellers from the Yorkshire region. I dont see how it will have relevance to anyone from outside the county and struggle to identify any synergies with business travellers.

I think they could have come up with a better slogan/strap line.

I'm not crazy about it. It just reinforces old fashioned stereotypes as to what Yorkshire's all about.

However, if it gets people talking and if it makes people realise how many destinations there are from LBA, and if it raises the airports profile, then it's done it's job, whether we like it or not I guess. Theres probably a reason why publicity consultants do what they do and we don't.

Ultimately, nobody is going to not fly from LBA because they object to this campaign but quite a few new passengers might. Many will find it amusing and memorable. We've complained on here loads about lack of publicity. Right now there's loads of publicity on line, and now on the buses and we still complain because it's not what we wanted, but we are not the 'experts'.

Despite not being what I would have preferred, I'm happy that they are making a concerted effort to increase the profile if the airport, and if it works I don't care how they did it.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
