The question on Sun Express might be fielded better by TUI who take most of their seats ex.UK

I’m sure the airport will know the answer too.
But it’s interesting to note Sun Express on sale for 3+ dates in March (2x weekly Fri & Sun) whilst TUI website has it 4x weekly (Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun) with the additional 5th weekly (Sat) flight for peak.

Imo if GVA is lost it would be a shame, but we really wouldn’t miss out on a lot - the only time the aircraft weren’t at best half empty was the February half-term. It’s a shame they didn’t really give it a proper go the past couple of winters, however we can only wait and see for the future

it absolutely was a slot filler but would be nice if it was given a proper chance, better times/frequency and season extension.
Still though that’s another route potentially lost with easyJet, along with the uncertainty on Palma and Malaga.

Sun Express gone for this summer and Wizz down to a fraction of what they started at. Not looking overly positive.

The Jet2 new destinations are welcome, but I can’t help but think we are going back to where we were 5 years ago with all our eggs in their basket.

To be fair we’re still slightly better off than then, we almost lost Ryanair if I remember correctly. They’re bigger than ever here now

I say wait and see. If it turns out badly, which it may very well considering this is LBA, then we can cross that bridge when we get there. I’m going with delusional hope

As we would say in Norway - Å se lyst på livet, which means to look brightly at life/to see the bright side of things.
I think come September and more phases of the development open up, that may be a good time for us to get some announcements regarding new routes etc.

Why the sad emoji @SierraHotel?

Just imaging if Jet2 went out of business next week……we would have a very quiet airport…..

i think alot of UK airports would be very quiet..

luckily that isnt the case so..

I'm sure if it was other airlines would be straight in.

Anyway lets hope for a Sun Express return next year & easyJet PMI/AGP/GVA back on sale & if not more.

Hopefully @White Heather was able to attend yesterday and may include a write up of the meeting in due course. This seeking reduction in routes by easyjet makes me think of a couple of possible scenarios, one of which I feel is often dismissed out of hand but isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.

The ACC meeting is next Thursday 25th June.
Thanks for the correction, I misread the other posts.

Either way be interesting to see whether it’s openly discussed. I would think the airport will be keen to see the completion of the terminal regeneration matched with some big new airline partnership, so it would be a shame of easyJet are starting to look elsewhere.

I hope what you are hinting at there @pug does come to fruition.
But as has been hinted already I do wonder if Jet2 stealing a march on some U2 possible destinations may be holding them back. Equally as has already been said we don't want to be relying on all the eggs in 1 basket - yes LBA is a bit more than that but you get the sentiment re Jet2, so hopefully there is something up the LBA/U2 sleeve

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
