Alex Sobel is having a Facebook 'surgery' at 14.00 today if anyone wants to challenge his party's policy on LBA.

Every one has to start a job that they know little about, but at the moment i think this is the wrong time as every body is struggling with this covid 19 about. Seeing hes in this position i hope he gets a lot of help from different sectors of the airport. It could be a wise move with his appointment and the best thing since sliced bread. Lets hope it works out for him.

He is my MP but I would not be able to hold back my contempt, so I won't be participating. He already knows my thoughts and that he has zero chance of my vote.
Not surprised WH.

He has done videos with XR on social media talking about how he will help stop the airport development...yet then also goes and does these videos talking around careers in aviation and pent up demand. Very much the definition of a hypocrite.

Think I may go on the attack on twitter pointing Alex out as a hypocrite for that above video.

Did you know not a single MP from the Yorkshire region signed a letter to the Prime Minister this week, which was asking him and the Government to provide more support to the Aviation, Travel and Tourism industries?

I hope he's in it for the long term ...to have 4 chief executives in 3 years and 10 months is highly unusual even in the fast paced aviation sector. I can't think of another airport that's had this many ceo's in such a short period. Change is inevitable at that level of job but this turn around is extraordinary. Its not great for staff morale, relationship building or stability.

LBA needs to succeed and the terminal developed for the future of friends and colleagues (and my) jobs. And there needs to be a period of stable leadership and confidence. Good luck to Hodder.

AMP will now want to see an ROI with signs that airlines intend to fly from LBA post covid. £150 mill is a drop in the ocean for AMP but an equity business model will want to see nominal signs that this investment will reap returns. (This assumption is based on my confidence that we will get planning approval btw). Currently LBA's business model is based strongly on Jet 2 but to take it to the next level it needs to widen its airline business. I thought a couple of years ago that MON and FR would do that, now I think LBA needs to look far wider and Hodder hopefully has that international airline experience to do that.

On a serious note not joking here, many members on here would do a great job working at the top level at LBA, this forum has a lot of decent well educated members on it that talk a lot of sense!

Couldn't this video be sent to LCC showing that a local MP is saying that the airport needs to develop. It could do some good or show him as an hypocrite. Better still, send it to Galba.
Sorry but I am getting bored, a lovely sunny day on the coast and very little flying over.

To be honest superLeeds 123, the last thing we need at this sensitive time with a planning process imminent is getting the back up of the MP's. If we were encouraging people to do this on behalf of the business partner I work for then we would face disciplinary action. I agree totally with your comments but to meddle during this highly sensitive period with an important and influential stakeholder is madness. If you work at the lba I know your intentions are good but the Board won't thank you for it.

What they are failing to add; and this is why I detest the MSM at the moment as there is 0 context it is all scare mongering propaganda bull sh*t, is the fact our government:

a) Failed to shut the border in March time. Regardless of that fact, Jet2 had to do a massive repeat of all customers that were flown abroad and needed to return to England/Yorkshire
b) The airport was at a standstill in April and May with very little movement. Our main contributors had come to a halt
c) The people flew through the airport because they were allowed. Not illegal - but because the government opened travel corridors. People wanted a sense of normality and to escape the constant bombardment of corona this, corona that from Social Media & MSM.
d) Maybe a real journalist would understand that however it appears in some local rags they have scrape the barrel through to the wood journalists.

Rant over.

Not entirely true. One of their journalists is so anti LBA and so pro DSA its laughable. Even LBA have realised that trying to get a reasonable report by him regarding LBA is impossible.

If its the person I think your on about, "the one I mentioned in a meeting" his local news only and I totally agree his very anti LBA.
He is in fact employed BBC Yorkshire as a young independent Journalist, dose not appear on local BBC TV or Radio. As I understand it he's actually paid to get articles published in local rags like Yorkshire Evening Post, Bradford Telegraph Argus & other local websites Leeds West News, Wharfedale observer.

His articles dont appear in the Yorkshire Post often.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
