The amount of traffic was remarkable. I don't remember Concorde attracting such crowds, especially in the later years. Anyone would have thought it was the Second Coming.

Didn’t know our runway was long enough for somthing of this size......
You wouldn't say that if you had seen it depart. It was airborne before the runway downslope, so well before the touch down point on runway 32. It then levelled off and did a full length flypast down the runway before putting on full power to climb away once it cleared the runway. Really spectacular. All this followed taxiing all the way up to the cemetary end with one of the crew waving at the crowds through the roof hatch and then all the way back to the Horsforth end via the main taxiway and a lengthy wait for 3 or 4 inbound aircraft to land.

The have been reports on other social media outlets of people yesterday being disrespectful by going into the cemetery. In my mind its totally disgraceful and you cannot condone it!

The behaviour of some people is disgusting. There will probably be a backlash from these events and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Council took some action that will spoil things for all airport enthusiasts.

Unfortunately society if full of idiots who spoil things for everyone else. Walking on the graves is nothing compared to what goes on around there after dark!

Just about every town has it's mandatory poo tree, where dog owners fling their dog poo bags onto trees. People just throw litter anywhere rather than taking it home and putting it in the bin.

On this occasion, I'm sure the main offenders were passer by opportunists rather than regular aircraft spotters and enthusiasts. Perhaps this also highlights the need for a more dedicated area for spotters.

It has been happening for years but more of them last weekend. I have stopped going to the end of runway 14 for that reason.

Sorry to be random but would anybody be able to advise how to create a shortcut to F4A on an Android phone? TIA

We have had an A300, A330, DC10, B747/2 and B747/3 over the years, not to mention Concorde, so size is not a problem. Funnily enough I popped round to Cemetery Road yesterday afternoon. The roads and dam car park were totally rammed with cars and there were hundreds of people hanging around as if something interesting was due. One lad turned up and said 'so when is Concorde landing then?' Oh yes, those were the days.

Yeh we have had all these various type but can anyone answer why we have never had an RAF A.330 Voyager crew training here?

BBC Look North tonight

Some interesting footage was used on this evening's programme to accompany the good news regarding minimal delays at LBA compared to most other UK airports.

The footage shows a KLM B737-800 PH-BCB arriving on Runway 32. According to the BH records, this happened on 16 December 2011 when KLM1073 became a Manchester diversion.

Oh well, it saves sending a camera crew up the road to capture up to date images!

Oops. The sun has affected my posting!! This aircraft did make a first visit over 6 years ago, but it made another visit more recently, on 23 February 2017, operating KLM895 Amsterdam to Manchester. Apologies for the error.

That must have been taken the same day as the Transdev promotional apron shot for the new 62 bus to Keighley. That had 2 Sunwings on the ground as well.

Lots of delays today due French Strike.
Most flights picking up slots with around 1 hour to 90 minute delays however things are getting worse/

Two Ryanair flights due out now have slots as follows:-
Malaga schedule time of departure 1115 now has slot of 1620 local
Arrecife schedule time of departure 1200 now has slot of 1510 local

Plus their teatime flight to Alicante has been cancelled

twev - is there any news out there about possible further strikes as I seem to get caught up in French ATC action every blooming year. I'm off to Greece next Tuesday.

Not heard of any more, they were due to go back to work this morning.

We were caught up in this at FUE yesterday..as we were last September waiting for a flight to Stansted..Lazy sods. But after that debacle we abandoned plans to visit France this year. Back to yesterday the inbound was 90 mins late but Jet2 did a great job in turning the aircraft round and with the help of a good tail wind we were just under an hour late back into Leeds..

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
