Until this afternoon, only the bridge on stand 7 was serviceable. However, the stand 8 bridge has been in action this afternoon for the first time in at least a year, having received attention from an engineer from Dutch company Anton. So far it has only serviced Jet2 flights, specifically 737-800s, and I don't know if any other airlines will be using it.

If there was one airbridge serviceable and KLM haven't used it, then that suggests it's either a decision not to use them, or related to the inability of Swissport to operate it due to their staff shortages.

On LS185 this morning Sep 07:00. Arrived at airport at 05:00 and in Starbucks at 05:15. Dropped bag last night.

I paid for fast-track but should have saved my money- normal queue was only 15 mins.

The really bad news is they no longer serve Timothy Taylors at the bar downstairs. Bit early for me but now only beers are keg- mainly lagers. Not happy.

I feel your pain. I wouldn't be happy about that either.

Never mind, after you return home a good plan is to recover by spending some quality time in Otley 'Spoons.

Flew out today on Jet2 to Alicante, the airport was a breeze. Check in at jet2 was spot on, security 5 minutes and most of that was due to someone not having a QR boarding pass. The terminal was the busiest I have seen it at this time in December. We got seats, but some people were looking without success. The bars were busy even before 5am. WH Smith stayed closed by gate7, maybe not enough footfall to warrant two open? Alicante was the first time I’d been since covid, so a couple of years gap and it is immediately apparent that we are non EU. They shouted out for any European passports and without thinking my flag went up (I’m dual-national). Before I knew it I was corralled to another queue leaving my partner a UK Only passport holder in the cattle queue. I went through in literally two minutes and then had to wait 1/2 hour to be joined. Shouts of Europeans only, Espanyoles this way, British join the big queue….not great.

Was Accesorize open ?

@LBAYORKIE yes I believe it was open and yeah @Aviador, I know, I think the realities may be sinking in to the masses though. With mixed heritage, I’m comfortably European and proudly feel English at the same time.
I would love the privilege of being mixed heritage so I could make the choice.

It depends where you go through.......This summer at Malaga all arrivals, didnt matter where you came from, went through the same queues. The guy in front of me was Dutch..My passport check, with the stamp, took only seconds longer. We also went through the French ports of Ouisterham and Cherbourg...ditto. Only one queue for everyone....
Maybe best avoid Alicante eh

Landed back in to LBA last night and got an excellent view of the lights of the city on approach and a cheeky loop as a bonus. Arrival was via the bus to arrivals, which whilst not great, was pretty quick and painless. At arrivals the escalator is still not working. No queue to immigration and pretty much all desks staffed, so straight to baggage reclaim. The corridor and baggage hall look horrendous(I know they will change as part of the redevelopment before anyone pounces on the comment) but they are grim. The baggage belt is proper loud and someone must have pressed the emergency stop, as it suddenly went off. Baggage was off in less than 5 minutes. So plane door to sentinel in 25 minutes which is spot on, it’s just the appearance of facilities that makes it feel third world, not the feel of a modern international city. Incidentally, Hull KR were in the arrivals, I think they had been training in Tenerife - some were proper units!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
