TOM644 - B787-8, G-TUII (Mrs Patmore) - seems to be going direct again today. Left the UK coast just south of Morwenstow in North Cornwall and is nearly two hours out over the Atlantic.

TOM644 - B787-8, G-TUIB (Alfie) - seems to be going direct again today. Left the UK coast in the vicinity of Boscastle in Cornwall and is now out over the Atlantic.

G-TUIB paid the inaugural visit of a B787 to BRS in April 2016.

Winter is down for a 757. Don't know about next summer except there will be 2 737.800 Don't know about the 757 as not heard any thing about them.I suppose it depends how many of the 737 max will be delivered as the 757 is due to be replaced by the max.

Jethro shows 14 757s in the fleet currently. He says that one will leave in December this year and three more in spring 19. The remaining ten will remain in the fleet next summer and will be disposed of in winter 19/20.

Jethro also shows 47 B 737 MAX8s on order but no delivery date is shown. I read elsewhere that TUI has an order for 70 MAX8s but 18 of them will be switched to the MAX10. So far as I can determine the MAX8 will have a maximum of 210 seats and the MAX10 230 seats. If BRS gets two MAX8s to replace its two 757s it would seem there will be an overall loss of seats unless one of the current 738s is switched to a MAX8 as well.

Perhaps a good chance if other airports are further up the queue to get the first 737MAX aircraft. It would be good to have one more summer with the 757s. No other airline flies them in to BRS any more on a regular basis.

My first flight on a Britannia 757 from BRS was in 1994 to Palma and back. That was the first flight and holiday that I recorded on my then new video camera. I didn't use Britannia in 1993 but in 1992 the airline was still using B737-200s at BRS as I took some cine film on a holiday to Lanzarote. So the Britannia/Thomson/TUI 757s have been at BRS for at least 24 years, possibly 25.

Sadly the B757's will be gone from being BRS based at the end of April 2019. Of course we may see the occasional visit whilst TUI still have them in the fleet.

Being replaced by 'ordinary' 737-800s? If so that will be a serious loss of seats.

I believe we may see a few more third party airlines operating for TUI from BRS until the MAX 10's are delivered.

They use Norwegian so a few of their non based flights at other airports so maybe BRS will see them? Also could they go to 6 based 737s which may well help to fill up stands to discourage opposition from moving in the future.

Possibly five 'ordinary' 738s but that would mean more rotations and I don't think there is anything yet in TUI's summer 2019 timetable that suggests that.

With the fourth TUI aircraft based at BRS for the first time this summer the use of third party carriers has reduced but TUI still uses Neos (Verona) and Freebird (one of the Dalaman) each week.

If there are to be more third party carriers next summer it will ease the rush hours slightly.

I'm assuming there may be changes to the current schedule when the next edition of the brochure is issued ? Maybe that's why larnaca and Dubrovnik are being served on the Dreamliner next year

I believe there will be 5 weekly Dreamliner flights.

I see they did a aircraft change over in SFB. The aircraft that operated to SFB was G TUIA and the aircraft doing the return to BRS is G TUIF. I don't know if there was a problem with G TUIA or the reason for change or where G TUIF came from or G TUIA is operating to.

G TUIA ended up in EMA. The aircraft is on its way to Cancun from EMA so it must have been a straight change for what ever reason.
