Today's Orlando heading via Manchester.
I'm not aware of any of the inbound Dreamliner flights this summer having to divert to another airport.Did the Bristol to Orlando trip a few weeks back on the Dreamliner. I hope it remains. Getting back to Bristol was so nice after a long flight. Was around the Hurricane Irma time and Thomson (I'll call then TUI one day) were pretty great about it all.
One thing that was brought up (only as we were landing in to Bristol by the captain) was that if it was too foggy the landing would be abandoned as the Dreamliner/Bristol runway aren't a good mix in the fog. Considering we seem to land in the fog about 95% of the time I'm sure it has caused all sorts of problems. The whole point of opting for the Dreamliner from Bristol was to avoid another long journey after landing. I hope this hasn't caught too many people out.

Runway 27 is equipped with Cat3b ILS which usually allows the enabled-aircraft/crews to land in poor visibility. This really means most of the larger jets that use BRS - the likes of easyJet, Ryanair, Thomas Cook, TUI. I don't know whether the short runway is a particular problem for a 787 under Cat3b conditions as I'm not technically competent to comment on that.
Runway 09 is not Cat3b equipped of course, reportedly because the falling ground on approach might give rise to unreliable readings. I'm not technically qualified to give a view on that either but it's certainly what I've read and not just on aviation website message boards.

I happened to be perusing YouTube a few minutes ago and came across this video that was taken yesterday. It shows the TUI B787 departing for Cancun which according to FR24 was made non-stop and the aircraft seemed to have some runway to spare. We don't know the load or how hard the engines were having to work.
Would BRS normally be at or near maximum thrust for a B787 taking off to Cancun? I imagine it would be near that.
Didn't they inadvertently put it on their website about a month or so ago - I thought Boa Vista Montego Bay Reykjavik and marrakech wasn't it
