I would like to see a return of Knock--it seemed popular enough at 4 weekly. It's perfectly viable for Flybe to restart as they still have flights there from Manchester--unlike Waterford where they pulled out altogether.

Unfortunately their application for Londonderry didn't make it through the regional routes committee.

I'm still in the dark about Bordeaux--it finished on Saturday and is now showing on Wiki as "seasonal". But then so are Palma and Ibiza which I thought were terminated a long time ago and I haven't seen any flights to in donkey's years.

I presume next year isn't bookable yet??

Bordeaux and Newquay remain in the system but are not bookable throughout winter. Hopefully it means they'll return next year, S16 is due for release 10th Nov I believe.

I wouldn't read too much into Wikipedia, the BHX page shows Easyjet operating to La Rochelle and Stockholm Arlanda from BHX and the Prague airport page shows BHX as being operated by Jet2 rather than Czech Airlines. I believe anybody can edit any page as they like?

Re the Rotterdam news...............Don't Knock it!

Vueling look as if they're putting their S16 flights from Palma on sale. Hopefully we'll find out soon if BHX is to be added.

There's rumours that Shannon may be getting a frequency increase soon, it's seen good loads since it came back.

Very good to see. Not surprising at all, after all it used to be two daily. I'm a little more surprised that BHX is the only Stobart Air route out of SNN--they used to fly to MAN as well, but I think MAN has Ryanair flights there anyway so it wasn't so much of a loss for them.

We're still not doing brilliantly with our Irish destinations although as long as Ryanair have a presence in Londonderry and Flybe have a presence in Knock there will always be a chance of these routes being reinstated.

Knock in particular seemed to be doing very well--in the last few weeks of operation a lot of flights were on the E175.

I'm not sure a new airline would be announced in such a way. His Tweet mentioned following the Rugby, are Emirates a sponsor? Could be an A380?

Emirates are the sponsor and have had a load of A380s adorned with Rugby World Cup titles.

When will this string of announcements end? (Not that I want it to)

It's looking like it is to be an EK A380, works on the third jet bridge to start soon. I'd await confirmation from Mr K though before getting too excited.

EK A380 on the afternoon flight from 1st May if GDS is correct. Will be 2 class as F class not available unless they add it as part of the announcement?

If an extra jet bridge is being fitted then I'd say it's most likely to be a 2 class, 615 is a lot of pax. A 3 class could probably be done comfortably from the two that are there now.

It came in 2009 (?) and had no problems, it actually rotated very early considering it was before the runway extension. Emirates only sold the same amount of tickets as they would for the usual 77W to avoid disappointed pax if the A380 wasn't used, so it wasn't full.

That's correct, Ray - September 2009 - it was to celebrate BHX's 70th Birthday. I thought I read at the time, that they sold First Class seats on that flight.

I have a few photos that I took, showing rotation as it crossed the old 06-24 runway on a 15 departure (and that was with a tail wind) -

Great news, if this is to become daily.

Great photos. I must have been stood next to you as I have almost identical pictures, they've even got the same guys head in

They did sell First for these flights, there's a video on YouTube from someone on board.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
