Just had our Solihull Observer delivered and in there is a whole page readers short breaks advert, places like Prague, Edinburgh to name but two.
All flights from BRISTOL !!
This kind of thing really annoys me
To restore some element of composure, the West of England edition of the Metro newspaper has featured full-page adverts for Jet2 flights out of BHX on more than one occasion in recent weeks.

There was another advert today in the West Country edition of Metro listing all the Jet2 flights from BHX.

They do appear to be on top of their game when it comes down to advertising. Could be a clever ploy by Jet 2 to
make people think about their travel plans this year, maybe pick up a few more customers from BHX and more importantly people know the name if they intend to set up a base in that area.

I think any Jet2 presence south of BHX is some years away. I'm not sure how far north the West Country edition of the Metro reaches. It might be as far as Gloucester/Cheltenham whose residents I think regard BHX as their local airport. Nevertheless, these BHX Jet2 Metro adverts certainly find a wide audience on the buses around Bristol.

If we remember back to THAT advertisement it did state that there would be three new bases. Surely a matter of when rather than if?
Jet2's comment about three new bases came before Monarch disappeared (did Jet2 ever say it was them or was it an assumption based on BHX and STN being chosen?). Jet2 not only filled the gap but have grown at a tremendous pace at BHX and STN. This growth has presumably taken all the available new aircraft and probably those in the pipeline, if there are any at present.

And another one :)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
