Their complete pull out should be announced soon !

I doubt there will be an announcement Ian. Airlines dont normally announce pullouts and BHX definately dont, its only people like us who know, LOL

Oh well i wont lose much sleep over this one, however just one message to BMI Regional, stay away next time and maybe try East Midlands for a change. Ive got no time for these airlines who come and go.:banghead:

VLM next ???????

The routes that BMIR chose were questionable. Surely with Gothenburg they were competing with themselves at Bristol!

Perfect routes for them would be: Oslo, Toulouse, Lisbon, Waterford and Cologne

I hope they are reading this!

Graz finishes 16th March out and 23rd March in.

No surprise really, so they lasted about one year, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact they get cheaper fees at BHX for the first year of service! Can't really work out what sort of airline they are trying to be, it's not low cost, and it's not premium!

Opportunity to be honest. The only reason they came back to BHX was because JLR were looking for corporate flights charters from BHX to Graz ....shock horror, the second JLR no longer need to flights and stop paying the subsidy, BMIR disappear!

Bye bye BMI Regional.

Possibly another example and hopefully the last of the previous management regimes policy of keeping the extended runway busy at any cost.

They certainly charge premium fares if their Bristol network is anything to go by.

Interesting, so the passengers in the Bristol catchment area are happy to pay premium fares, us Midlanders are not?

Could this be a reason why airlines are leaving Birmingham? Passengers using Birmingham only want low fares? No demand for premiun services or First Class (even Emirates can't see a market for First Class) ?

Do any airlines offer First Class from BHX?

bmi regional seems to exist on load factors across the board in the range 50%-60%. The Bristol European routes are either code shares with LH (to FRA and MUC) or have business links at boths ends: Airbus and Imperial Tobacco to HAM; Leonardo (formerly Augusta Westland in the UK) to MXP. DUS and ABZ are two that have no obvious shared business affinity and the new 2 x weekly GOT route seems mainly a way of moving aircraft to/from Sweden on a revenue service to operate limited niche services there. The one with slightly less expensive fares is Paris Cdg where bmir competes with easyJet.

Seems bmi will soon be pulling out of GOT altogether per this post on the other forum:

Bristol to Gothenburg
- From 5th March to 20th March, 1 of the 2 weekly direct frequencies began operating via BHX. Currently it is not possible to book flights for the BHX-GOT and GOT-BHX sectors. Flights for Travel after 20th March are no longer available to book

BRS-GOT is still showing booking availability through the coming summer on the bmir website.

The Brs Got posting you can read 2 ways. Its not very clear how its worded.

Until 20th March it will go via BHX, after that date the BHX stopover will cease and it will go direct from BRS.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
