Re aircraft capacity, KLM configurations are as follows
FK100-101 MK620- 101 seats example reg's; PH-KLI,PH-OFH Forward opening Airbus style passenger door. No Airstairs.
FK100-103 MK620- 103 seats example reg's; PH-OFA,PH-OFK Downward opening in-built passenger stairs
FK100-103 MK650- 103 seats registrations; PH-OFL,M,N Forward opening Airbus style passenger door. No Airstairs.
FK100-108 MK650- 108 seats registrations; PH-OFO & OP Downward opening in-built passenger stairs & rear exit on AC Left
This is due to change as the type is phased out and only 5 remain. Rumour has it the cabin will be standardised to 100 seats in-line with the Embraer 190
As for the Embraer 190 they are all 100 seats maximum configuration at KLM. Some operators have between 100 to 120 seats it just depends.

I am not sure what the pitch is on the E190 at KLM but Its good lol, to be honest so is the F100 - passengers can not believe how much leg room they have. They are both popular regional jets because they have the feel of a medium-body jet, it just the F100 is now an old design that costs too much money to maintain.
Its so stupid how you step onboard an aircraft that may take you to Lanzarote and take 4+ hours and you will be in a great deal of discomfort - not to mention very bad for your health. Then you step on a regional service on an a/c half the size that may only take 50 minutes to get to your destination and there is enuf leg room for a party down there!

The 195 is slighlty longer and for example Flybe who are a low cost airline will pack it with the maximum number of seats whereas KLM are a full service national carrier and 100 seats is a resonable configuration.

Dont forget added comfort with E195 of 2 + 2 intead of 2 + 3 in the Fokker.
I have used LOT Polish E170/E175 and they are very nice aircraft.
The F70/100 has good legroom with KLM but you get the feeling these aircraft were not designed for fully grown adults when you see some of the big Dutch guys trying to squeeze in widthwise.
Dont forget added comfort with E195 of 2 + 2 intead of 2 + 3 in the Fokker.

you know i have often said, how can it be that an aicraft designed by a dutch company (allbeit parts from the UK, Germany, Ireland & France) ...
have such a low door height, low baggage bins and cabin lol. On the plus side, KLM have nice roomy seats with the good leg room and once you are sat in you seat it does feel very roomy. But it had to be said the F100 was mostly popular outside the Netherlands so had few Dutch passengers to worry about. KLM took 5 i believe which are still about today (just) and they did not like the aircraft at all! Most of the fleet was leased out to other operators. Its only in the last 4 years that a great number of F100 reg;s are PH.
As you pointed out the 2-Aisle-3 seating configuration of the Fokker jets in comparission to a very passenger friendly 2-Aisle-2 on the Embraer. Its one of the Fokkers biggest bugs and passengers hate the random 5 across config, but lets face it most aircraft have at least 3 seats together.
I love the 2 seat idea, combined with good leg room it makes it so roomy and looks very concorde'esq!!! F100 also have 2 toilets at the rear which causes lots of issues on a single isle aisle aircraft!! The E190 has 1 fwd & 1aft!
I hope some of you get chance to have a fly on it, very different to the Flybe Embraer indeed.

Perhaps of interest;
Air France KLM is meeting the change in demand with capacity cuts network wide it is reported. The overall cut is arround 4.5-5%.
From what I can gather, Cityhopper will have reductions on flights to Nice with less rotations and aircraft downgrade to F70. Also some of the German routes will see less rotations and more F7 & F50 equipment.
Tallinn will be withdrawn from the end of March which is a blow for this popular route with good loads.
As previousley published, Leeds will be 3 F70's a day from the end of March & this will continue to next winter. No more F100.
Liverpool is going ahead still so that is good news.
Due to less demand for the 737 fleet, it is to be expected Cityhopper will begin to service a number of routes previousley operated by mainline. Helskini, Copenhagen & Stockholm are some of the ones in discussion.
The phase out of the F50 will speed up and the replacement is confirmed to be 7 E190 aircraft together with 5 F70 from Air France Regional - 2 of which are now with KLM.
KLM now has fully ownership of Martinair with no major announcements on this front yet.
The airline will cease Aruba & Hydrabad among others but meet new demands with a new 5 a week Calagary flight on the A330.
Delta NWA are adding an additional JFK flight with 757 equip.
Capacity cuts at LHR are noticable with more F50 and smaller 737 variants. No more widebody operation this year. This is not a reflection of less people wanting to travel to Amsterdam but less people using LHR in general as BAA recently reported.
The summer sched begins end of March for AFKL and more changes will be made once in production. Some rotations will be increased again and aircraft upgrades in the peak travel months.
I will keep you updated best I can.

Tonight will see the last "planned" Fokker100 operation by KLM into Leeds Bradford Airport. From Sunday all flights after the early departure will be Fokker70.
These aircraft have operated into Leeds in Air UK, KLM UK & KLM Cityhopper livery for almost 20 years.
The last Fokker100 aircaft are not due to leave the KLM fleet until late 2010 but for now it seems, its the end of its days at Leeds Bradford. You may however see them from time to time should a load or technical issue dictate.
Noisy, Old, Smelly, Always breaking but a good old fashioned jet that i will miss!
From Sunday also please find new final timetable release;

Shame - I hate it when aircraft that we are used to seeing disappear, although at least the F70 looks similar. I still miss seeing aircraft I grew up with, and used to see at LBA as it was developing, especialy the Viscount, 707, 727, DC9, Tristar and of course the 747. It is nice to have an airport that is more busy these days, but it seems the aircraft coming here are all much the same these days, with little real variety.
Hopefully the F100 will make a 'guest appearance' a few times before they are withdrawn from the fleet altogether.

KLM is expected to announce its withdrawl from the Amsterdam - Riga route by the end of June this year.
Its understood this is due to the falling economic prospects of the destination and in turn sector revenue. Furthermore the political climate has become unstable in the past 10 months.
KLM operates 2 daily flights to Riga on Cityhopper Fokker 100/70 aircraft. The route was first announced in late 2004.
On a brighter note, KLM cityhopper has commenced 3 daily FK70 flights to Liverpool John Lennon as planned.

Bristol is now scheduled for F 70s only but the night stopper this evening is F 100, PH-OFD, currently parked on the eastern apron according to the BRS apron website. So LBA may well see one or two before they disappear into the KLM Blue Yonder.
Incidentally, BRS-AMS has been reduced to 3 rotations per day this summer. Must be the mid 1990s since the number of flights in summer was this low.

Thanks Local Yokel. Hopefully we will still see the odd F100, although being at work most days, the chances of me actually being at home to see it are remote.
We have been stuck with 3 KLM flights to AMS for a couple of years now I think, although of course we also have 2 Jet2 flights too, so there are 5 overall each way, which is pretty good for an airport the size of LBA. In the past we had 4 KLM's, and at one time (as I recall) 5 or 6, but they were then operated by F50's.

Well we haven't either at LBA as it went down to 3 rotations a year or two back, I think in response to Jet2's presence on the route. I note from CEEFAX arrivals that HUY still has 4 daily rotations, although I am not certain if they are all F70 operated.

The HUY lunchtime rotation is scheduled to be Fokker 50. Other rotations Fokker 70.

Other destinations like NCL, BHX, GLA, EDI & MAN etc have more Cityhopper rotations compared to previous years instead of more 737.
The LHR is a combination of 737's and Fokker 50 this summer, no more widebody operations planned. The LCY is now operated for KLM by Cityjet.
