I've had a US flight ATOL covered before. I booked through Skyscanner and the website i booked through sent me an ATOL certificate for my flight only purchase. Maybe the company just has to designate itself as a holiday company rather than an airline/flight provider then it may have to or can have ATOL?

You shouldn`t have done as it is a tour licence not for seat only hence the name Air Tour Operators Licence

Had a flight only package with Monarch to Faro from LBA days before the company ceased trading and was issued with an ATOL certificate to protect the flight. Was resuced home on a repatriation flight by the Civil Aviation Authority, albeit to Gatwick on a Wamos Air 747 EC-MRM and then coach up to LBA. The CAA contacted me days later asking if I was covered by an ATOL certificate, and if so could I give them the certificate number so they could reclaim the cost of myself and my wife's repatriation to the UK. So yes certificates were issued for flight only by Monarch and the CAA seem to have been aware of this.

We booked flight only tickets with Monarch and were definitely not covered by ATOL so claimed our refund through the credit card company with no problems.

Previously we have booked through Travel Republic who did issue ATOL certificates under their own name so presumably it depends who you booked through

The government decided rightly that everybody would be repatriated regardless whether ATOL covered or not.

As I have previously stated there is a Brexit clause in this agreement which will stop the sale without a brexit deal or the shareholding being a substantial majority towards U.K. ownership, Virgin/IAG will be treated as non u.k. share ownership.
With the e.u. ruling IAG a european carrier (after 29th March), not sure things moving smoothly, we already know Virgin is not a european carrier, its going to test CAA and the e.u. ability to bend the rules. Fairly sure, both companies will use this case ruling in a bigger picture for the future and see it as a back door for future u.k. flying rights.

The e..u. announced on friday that as airline ownership is so vital to decide its either a e.u. our non e.u. company, companies will have 7 months from an agreed date to get their ownership in line, they realise impossible now by the 29th March.
Cant see how by the 22nd of this month, Virgin, IAG and Stobart can make Flybe a u.k. company, which it needs for this agreement to hold.

51 weekly rotations not bad for a non based airline. I actually think is more flights than they are due to operate out of there Donny base this summer.

I am surprised that the Friday Newquay isn't operated (as last summer) by an E195, assuming they still have them! The loads on that flight, as I understand it, were very good. It was good to see their Welcome to Yorkshire 195 actually at Yorkshire's Airport, if only once a week.

It seems silly that Flybe aren't doing very well but won't add frequencies to successful routes. Newquay could be operated 5 weekly successfully peak summer especially on a E-175.

No E jets based at NQY this summer. Heathrow will be operated by a Q400.

I see the Flybe board has accepted the right of Andrew Tinkler to make a bid for the company, however, it looks as if he wont take any action until the agreement on the table folds or legal action makes it impossible to continue.

Well it's being reported this evening that flybe's directors have issued a warning to its shareholders that it will be forced to wind up the company if they do not back the sale to "Connect Airways" consortium on March 4th.

Surly this leaves Mr Tinkler with little or no room to wiggle, The ball is firmly in the hands of those shareholders now!

Common sense and the airline industry are not always two things that go hand in hand. However on this occasion I agree that common sense does need to prevail for the good of everyone. UK air connectivity may take an irreversible hit if Flybe were to go under

As I read it, the airline, as a subsidiary of Flybe passes into new ownership, regardless, on the 22nd February. The shareholders do not need to approve this transaction. The threat is to dissolve Flybe the holding company in which many people hold shares .
I may well be wrong of course..Fingers firmly crossed for the long suffering staff who just don't deserve this horrible power play that's going on...

Your right Paully, the flying arm of Flybe is sold on the 22nd and then Flybe just becomes a shell non trading company and the fight starts on what went wrong.
I just hope Connect know the cause of the dire financial position, whilst accepting banks and credit card companies are ensuring their fully secured for section 75 claims,(after getting burned by Monarch), the companies need for £17.5m (£15m bridging load and £2.5m first trench of gatwick slots to Vueling) in the last three weeks is a worry and now only £5m loan money to last two weeks.
Andrew Tinkler in his proposal to the board last week, thought the company still needed £80M in new capital
Once again you wonder if auditors asleep in the cockpit and the directors relaxing in first class.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
