I don't think that is related to the work going on nationally re routes and landing/take off procedures. I too have seen quite a few flights go into the overhead and then hold for a while before landing, even though the airport is relatively quiet at the time. One evening last week the Flybe Dash 8 from Belfast did just that and did 3 or 4 circuits over Bramhope before finally heading all the way back up to Skipton to enter the runway 14 glidepath and land. In all that time, 2 737s landed and the last of these had done so before the Flybe came out of the hold.I have noticed more aircraft flying overhead recently. I'm not sure if that's related or just routine sequencing in traffic.
A missed approach is when an aircraft is on approach to land and for some unplanned reason, it has to abort the landing. For example due to wind shear or as instructed by ATC due to an obstruction on the runway.what is a missed approach please?
also whats the difference between runway 14 and 32?
Are you sure it was a fighterjet in the circuit? As we had no military jet aircraft visits at LBA last friday.RAF aircraft doing circuits at the moment. I don't know my military aircraft but I think it's a Eurofighter Typhoon.
