Maybe with all these extra based aircraft they are going to have at Manny, there might be scope for us to get our W-leg Geneva back at some point.

It’s the age old problem that the Manchester’s catchment area essentially covers Yorkshire so in EasyJet’s planning and strategy they do serve Yorkshire, but from an airport not in Yorkshire.

The non return of the GVA service and the massive expansion at MAN tells us all we need to know about Easyjet's plans for LBA unfortunately.

I have just flown back from OPO to MAN with Easy and what a very pleasant experience. The seats are so comfortable compared to Ryanair and the price of just £101.00 was half the price of Ryanair.
If these guys were at LBA I wouldn’t hesitate in using them over Ryanair and JET2....
I prefer the Airbus A320 (G-EZWV) to the 737-800 and find it quieter (just my opinion).....If I had to rate the experience it would be 9/10.

The new seating on Easyjet is good I've been on then to Faro a few times

It all Manchester expansion for Easyjet ! No room for Lba adventures.

Yes seems to be , we are just seeing a few new routes at Liverpool, but loosing Lisbon soon, really not sure why, it's not because they are not getting full flights or good yeids they are. Hopefully someone will replace the loss.

Oh no! I just don't think Easyjet at LBA is going to happen anytime soon, for the reasons "Jason 1-11" has already pointed out, that sadly being Manchester.

Bigman Jet2 have the LBA-GVA route already substantially covered, including extra seats picking up the Easyjet slack.

So, based on this logic, if Liverpool is also in Manchester's catchment area, why do they still fly to Liverpool?

Easyjet has a esta

Easyjet's Liverpool base was well established before they set up at Manchester.

Like everyone else (eg Ryanair & Jet2) it seems like Easyjet wanted a bit of the Manchester "cherry pie" (Profit) and its seems to have worked for them.
Hence they have grown the Manchester operation nearly every year since.

The Liverpool base seems to sit in the shadows keeping stagnant, so whilst loyal customers keep returning I bet its worth keeping the operation going...

Because of the demand, and it works the other way Manchester is in Liverpool's catchment area.

As mentioned Easyjet were based at Liverpool a long time before Manchester same for Ryanair . They both have started to grow at Liverpool again all be it slower than Manchester, Liverpool is back at 5M again and easyjet and Ryanair have both helped that increase.

It certainly does and the only route I can find is Guernsey. BUT it shows as "operated by a partner airline". Is this a pre-cursor to something else though I wonder? Why show partner flights if there isn't going to be something to connect to?

A new partnership with Aurigny maybe?

Curiously appears to show Tues Thurs and Sat as possible Leeds to Guernsey dates from May but when selecting it states unavailable... Would seem to need connection via Gatwick...

The re-appearance of Easyjet at LBA is something I will believe when I see it. But...….our new commercial director spent 10 years working for Easyjet so if anyone can, he can. There are so many route opportunities for Easyjet from LBA if only they could see beyond their North West airports and give this side of the Pennines a chance. I suspect however that even he won't be able to get them in until/unless the terminal expansion is completed and the airport can offer partner airlines and their passengers a better offering.

It would be great if they could be persuaded to do a couple of non based German routes while we have the status quo and often non based flights are at slightly quieter times so there may be the capacity. Thinking specifically SXF and DUS lets see! EasyJet have the benefit of a much stronger footprint than either BE or LS in Germany?

easyJet's German routes from its UK bases are as follows:

Berlin Schoenefeld: LGW, LTN, GLA, BRS, LPL
Munich: LGW, MAN, STN, LTN, EDI
Berlin Tegel: LGW, MAN, EDI
Hamburg: LGW, MAN, EDI
Dusseldorf: LGW
Dortmund: LTN
Friedrichshafen: LGW

BFS, NCL and SEN have no easyJet German routes.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
