I did hear moving yes, but using T1 check in for another month or two. Watch this space (or this page) since someone will undoubtedly have updates.

Is this still planned to happen on Sunday (27th)? I can't find any reference to it on Manchester Airport's website, despite definitely seeing the ticker announcement last week when I looked?

yes, good point. if T3 was fully opening in a few days I would expect to see more information prominently shown on the website. as others note perhaps it will be T3 airside opening initially still using T1 check in and security.

Interesting response to a question that I put to a manager within Manchester Airport with regards to the opening of T3 on 27th March:

Nothing has been announced. There may have been some reporting but nothing announced by us.

We will be clarifying the position and communicating as soon as we have all the finer details nailed
.

Thanks. Do they mean it's not confirmed T3 will open on Sunday (MAN did previously announce that) or just the details of whether T1 check in and security will be used or whether T3 check in and security will re-open too?

The retail units within T3 have been informed it’s 27th March reopening.
According to other forums and social media posts I’ve read from various workers at the airport, T1 check in and security will be used until end of April.

So sounds like T3 airside will be open on Sunday (27th) and aircraft parked at the stands, so boarding will take place from there, but check in and security will continue from T1 for now…

Many thanks @LS@MAN

Sorry, one other question if you can help, do you think the taxi and pick up points will be back in use outside T3 as well from Sunday or we will still have to walk to T1 for that?

I've asked for clarification of the response as it might have been an "in haste" email and could be referring just to check-in.

Hey ho, it keeps us on our toes.

Many thanks @LS@MAN

I really have no idea…let’s see if @Scottie Dog receives an answer to his e mail and go from there…

This is from the airport’s website, I’ve taken Aurigny as an example. It would suggest arrival into T3 but passengers would then have to walk to T1:

Aurigny Airlines will be departing from Terminal 1 (T1) and arriving into Terminal 3 (T3) from 27th March.

Please bear this in mind when making drop-off and pick-up arrangements, or making car parking bookings. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are a five minute walk from each other and there is signage in place to direct you.

Please check your boarding card or contact your airline for more information about which terminal your flight will depart from.

Morning all, just to confirm.

T1 will be used for check in & security for all T1/3 departures with gates and T3 airside in use. As above, retail units in T3 are being prepared. Stand 142 still out of action as no PRM access whilst a new lift is being installed. Arriving flights will be exiting via T3 with T3 multi-storey for pick up open. Few dates have been mentioned for the full re-opening of T3 however as yet there is nothing confirmed.

Thanks for the info.

Will T3 drop off be in use. I noticed recently they re-painted all the lines on the road outside T3 departures/arrivals.
Or judging by the comms on the airport's website, to me it sounds like arriving passengers will walk to T1 if getting picked up?

Are the handling agents using some sort of different de-icing fluid/liquid now?
It just seems more noticeable on the aprons as it seems to stain for longer.

Well, as many predicted it has not been a good day.

TUI at T2 is in meltdown. FR at T3 now suffering, no staff to safedock and delays of upwards of 45 minutes to get passengers off aircraft. And the current wait time in T3 for bags is upwards of 120 minutes. I note easyJet are now cancelling a number of flights this evening (Just to clarify, I am not sure if these cancellations are related to staffing issues or other operational reasons).

Not sure what the next steps are at this point. It is not just recruitment but also the delays with getting people airside passes.

Maybe the answer is bring all handling back in house. Stop farming it out to the lowest bidder. If it means flight tickets cost another £2-3 each so be it to pay an attractive wage.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
