I was on the AA54 out of Chicago on Saturday night (3 spare seats in J).

The 752s previous flight was AA2535 from DFW-ORD.

I checked of FR24 to see if it flew that leg yesterday but can't find a mention. Anyone got better access who can check?

It did 692AA. Arrived pretty much on time. Not flown since. Due out Tuesday morning ORD DFW BOS DFW ORD MAN ARR Thursday morning hopefully as I'm booked on ORD MAN.

So 692AA is still on stand. Problems with loose panels and brakes. Then when start up commenced an hydraulic problem which now turns out to be an overfilled system. Doh. Apparently Chicago holds no spares for the B757 as it wasn't expected to operate from there. Direct quote from one of the crew. See you on the other side of the pond maybe. Will be leaving AA well alone after this

Well the good news is AA 54 is due in from ORD today. The bad news is it's 4 hours late. But JFK is only 2 hours late.
What more can one say about their unreliability.

In fairness, I should mention the PHL was 45 minutes early.

AA how to totally screw up your customer brand.

There must the more naive pax who also book via BA who will blame them as well.

From The96er on dried fruit:

"There was about 40plus transferring LHR-MAN -JFK/ORD/PHL from AA this morning. Not sure if AA are overbooking their LHR-US services, but it's becoming in more common for pax to transfer LHR-MAN-US than the other way around."

An interesting trend, even if I suspect more than 40 ppd each way route MAN-LHR-JFK/ORD/PHL particularly the evening services but it's pleasing to hear it's not all one way traffic and that MAN has a role for transfer traffic.

With it being Independence Day in the US, and a Tuesday, I was thinking outbound flights might be fairly quiet.
However, looks like over 200 on the PHL, JFK nearly 80% and even ORD over 2/3 full. Many transfer pax today?

(United only showing 11 empty seats out of 169 with J class full)

I wonder if there are positioning crew on these flights generally.

American are giving the B787 another bash on the AA54/55 next summer. It's bookable from 8th June 2018.

Looks like they are not quite ready to throw in the towel just yet.

Great news - as long as it is reliable.

Cautiously optimistic - is it the 757 before then?
767-300 I believe, should there not be any more changes. The route currently takes a break from 8th Jan-26th March. Maybe we can build up to year-round if this goes well.

Lot of water to go under that particular bridge - as with JFK - but it is indicative of faith in MAN borne out by the strengthening marketplace at this end.

Hopefully good signs with UA and VS in mind...

Typical! This years summer holiday saw me stateside using AA. When I started the planning of it AA54 was a 787, then when I booked it it became a 763, and by the time I flew it was a 752!

Buyer beware!

Lucky you weren't going from BHX (my favorite airport ) or you would of had to swim lol.

Some very healthy loads on the US flights today by the looks of it, but then I noticed JFK on AA is cancelled.
ORD showing 10 available seats and PHL only 1, with only 2 seats available in J class on the ORD.
UA has 6 seats available but J class full.

Initial reaction was that some of the golfers would only be returning today but I imagine some of the JFK pax may be being re-routed via PHL to boost numbers on that flight.

Wouldn't it be nice to go a whole month without any AA cancellations.

American Airlines have begun selling Premium Economy on their Manchester-Philadelphia route, opposed to their current 'Main Cabin Extra' option. This will mean it is a completely separate cabin!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
