Dallas Fort Worth DFW seems to be on the cards at the moment for a service to MAN operated by B752WL/B763 aircraft.

Continental operate a B757 service from BCN to EWR so I guess it could be possible.

This route was operated 8 years ago now but didnt last more than two seasons. Lets hope this time it can be a success providing AA confirm they will definately do it.

More than likely they will use B763 equipment on the route, but i understand a B752WL could also make it, least it gives AA an option...

Delta also uprgrading some of their services across the pond from MAN from July/August to B763.

Last week, saw one of AA's Boeing 757-200 aircraft at MAN go tech. There was a problem/malfunction with the FO's (First Officer) seat and it had to be towed to a remote stand, (84) untill the replacement was flown in from the states.

A problem with a seat!?!

Indeed pilot_ben.

It was probably the seat didnt recline into a full flat position so the tired FO could "get his head down" on the return leg whilst in the cruise! :coco:

American launch mobile boarding passes at Manchester Airport

Passengers catching flights from Manchester Airport with American Airlines can now use its mobile boarding programme. Manchester is one of six international airports that have been added to the airline's mobile boarding scheme, along with Barcelona, Rome Fiumicino, Frankfurt, Milan Malpensa and Zurich.

Initially launched in 2008, the airline only began offering the service at Heathrow in June, and it is now available on flights from 50 locations around the world. American Airlines customers flying from Manchester can now check-in online and have their boarding pass sent to their internet enabled mobile phone.

The airline operates regular flights to Chicago and New York from Manchester airport. Passengers who check in online and wish to print a paper boarding pass are still able to do so.

American Airlines to restart Manchester – New York route

American Airlines will start year round flights between Manchester and New York JFK from next April. The route was announced as a summer service from May as in previous years, but the airline has now brought the restart forward to April 6 and made the service year round because of demand.

Departures in both directions have also been re-timed by over an hour so that they will now depart Manchester earlier and leave New York later. The airline will run its two non-stop flights a day in Boeing 757-200s with 182 seats.

Andrew Harrison, Manchester Airport's managing director, said: ‘American Airlines is our longest serving American carrier, having operated continuously for 25 years. I’m delighted that the New York JFK service was so successful that it’s not only starting earlier than planned but will be operating a year round schedule from 2011.’

Some good news from American Airlines.

The AA54/55 Manchester-Chicago flight will upgrade from the current daily B757-200, to a larger B767-300 as of 14th June, 2012.

Also, for the winter season, the following changes take place:

AA54/55 Manchester-Chicago: Retains B767-300, but increases from 5 weekly to daily

AA210/211 Manchester-New York JFK: Increases from 6 weekly to daily.

Both flights run daily in the summer, but usually revert to 5 weekly and 6 weekly respectively in the winter, so overall, this will see a decent yearly increase for passengers.

Also good to get a wide body aircraft back on one of our Atlantic routes.

American Airlines will upgrade MAN-ORD to the B767-300 2 months earlier than usual next year. The B767 is bookable from 1st April instead of the planned June 5th.

The US Airways flights to Manchester from March 29th are now showing as American Airlines flights.

US734/735 to Philadelphia now shows as AA734/735 'Operated by US Airways'
US746/747 to Charlotte now shows as AA746/747 'Operated by US Airways'.

Both flights will also operate alongside the JFK and ORD flights in T3 too (tight squeeze this summer!)

MAN's transatlantic operations appear to be taking quite a worrying hit this winter - now AA are cutting the Wednesday JFK service from 7th Jan until the end of the winter season. On the plus side PHL is upgraded to an A333 for most of the winter.

Thunderchild,

Just to let you know, you are permitted to post about good news too you know. :s_no

You're right but it's good to hear the not so good news too so you can see the full picture.

I do cover a lot of the good news, but, these threads barring 2-3 members are very quiet.

Ive tried stimulating lots of debate, but, it seems some only pop over to post a route or service cut.

:sorry:

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
