The local authority seems to have all but withdrawn its defence of the STN appeal much to the chagrin of their version of GALBA. The appeal there is currently under way and STN's 'GALBA' has decided to put their opposition evidence to the public enquiry in writing only, despite being warned by the planning inspectors conducting the enquiry that it will carry less weight than oral evidence.Probably. I wonder if the opposition at Bristol and Stansted used used the same arguments as GALBA. If so the ministers decision on these will be a good indication of how he will rule on Leeds.
The main part of the BRS appeal - the public enquiry element - is not due until July so we shan't know the final outcome until towards the end of this year at the earliest. If BRS is successful with its appeal I anticipate further action by opponents by way of judicial review attempts.
The BRS opposition groups, there is more than one, have broadly used the same environmental arguments as GALBA.
