Totally agree. FAP for the ILS on runway 14 is 6.1 miles. Turning in at 7 miles I’d say is a well flown stable approach.

Afraid not, it needed all the figures taking post flight check. Once TELS are happy with the readings the glide path requires a 24 hour burn in period before it is returned to service:-) Trust me, we can't wait for the GP back either!

Getting the Vulcan to do that fly past was one of the highlights of my career. The BA Shuttle asked what the Vulcan was doing. When told a low approach and asked if he wanted to wait the response was "Hell Yeah!" Considering it was on its way back from its last display of 2014 made it even more...

They aren't additional temporary stands, they are the same extra parking slots we've been using for months. Look a bit odd but dies what it says on the tin:-)

It most certainly was for weather avoidance! It certainly can make things interesting when they get that Far East!

Without being there it's hard to say for definite but with all the weather around its probable that they had to weather avoid after the missed approach. Don't quote me on that though.

I have no idea about any route rumours but the aircraft departed Doncaster, did an ILS at Leeds before flying direct back to doncaster. I wouldn't look to much into it but I'm happy to be wrong about it:-)

Not sure how many helicopters but they really don't cause that much of a problem. Mainly because they are so low. Unless they flew right through the immediate climb out or very short final they can usually just be given traffic information and left to route as they need to:-)

Glad to hear it A300. Having done that job myself I know how bitterly cold it can be. Although I do remember on one occasion being told not to sweep 12 inches on snow off an A319 and wash it off instead! 4800 litres on one aircraft. Think it paid for both de-icing rigs(Joke).
