British Airways adding additional flights from Glasgow to London City from June next year. The airline is to increase its frequency between Glasgow and the Docklands airport from four to five daily services.

British Airways currently operates a network of six destinations from Belfast City Airport – Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London City, London Heathrow and a summer service to Newquay.

Seems a bit of a random one but cudos to Glasgow to getting CityFlyer to operate the route.

I suspect it's possibly connected to Barrhead Travel.

Would it be utilizing an aircraft that otherwise would be on the ground.

@Seasider I would guess so with LCY being closed basically/loosely from Saturday lunchtime through to Sunday lunchtime and that is BACF's route ex GLA. I am sure one of the locals can confirm for definite

From what I can see this aircraft was supposed to operate a flight to Salzburg on behalf of TUI/Inghams.

That flight will now be operated by TUI themselves on a 737 - as a result TUI has removed its Saturday TFS flight.

A lot of reorganising the deckchairs, and it appears BA are still operating a flight to Palma on Sunday morning for TUI

BACF have always dabbled with these kinds of routes from the regions directly in to europe. As noted the saturday/sunday curfew would mean these aircraft and crew would just sit downroute somewhere instead - they can't all stay at LCY. over the years they have operated from MAN, EDI, and GLA. these are BACF flights and not charters which is a completely different scenario. charter flight numbers usually start BA8xxx.
