Next to no extra space... QR has done amazingly well from BHX an i really hope we see capacity increases soon. Based on my numbers, YTD Load Factors for QR is currently circa 235 pax per flight, circa 92%!!! Pretty stellar!

Here's hoping for bigger aircraft or a frequency increase next summer...

surely an increase in frequency would be their first move, maybe 10 flights a week, eventually going up to twice daily on the B788 still?

Qatar 10 weekly 787-8 &787-9 3 morning 7 afternoon
Saudia 5 weekly 787-9 or 787-10
Air India Amritsar 4 weekly and Delhi 5 weekly 787-8 or A350
Turkish 3 daily 1 A330 2 A321Neos
Pegasus Daily A321

My predictions for next summer

Was there not some discussion over Turkish L/Fs softening recently? A330 unlikely as a permanent fixture. All others look reasonable.

My predictions for next summer

Air India won't use any A350's to BHX at present, and Turkish won't use any A330s regularly, i have a feeling next year will might only see 2 daily flights from them, not certain the demand to Istanbul is goinfg to grow much next year.

Air India has no intensions of deploying A350 to BHX, a whole ground crew fee and needed equipment is required, the 787-8 will stay, As for Qatar, it remains 787-8 till that timelines

TK & PC are both doing well from BHX.
TK loads have not reduced as a result of PC starting.
I can see PC going daily at some point and maybe add AYT.
TK are currently experimenting with a third daily but it has been canx a few times but on days all three run the loads are good.
TK & PC are completely different markets, so I wouldn't rule out 4 x IST daily maybe in S25

would you agree that international expansion next summer is crucial to the airport’s ambitions

Do you mean intercontenental as just a flight down to Alicante is international?

More flights further afield will no doubt be targets for BHX but they have to get the timings right. If you look at the current global political landscape, ongoing cost of living crisis and now Mpox (formerly monkeypox) taking hold and possibly becoming the next pandemic. It could easily be said that now isn't really the right time.

Yes of course and they are talking to airlines all the time about a BHX service but the process is very long winded.
BHX's are aware Heathrow is full again and airlines will be looking at adding additional 'London' capacity elsewhere and the airport are and need to continue to bang the HS2 drum.

Two things are crucial for substantial expansion at BHX - EasyJet and Ryanair.
I agree - Nick Barton knows this as he was at Luton previously.
I was a great supporter of Paul Kehoe but he and others before him were really just interested in British Airways and alliances.
Easyjet & Ryanair add footfall and spend at the airport

TK also added a additional lunchtime service you have mentioned, but that’s been fluctuating a little, as those times there’s extremely high competition from emirates, saudia, Qatar.

If you think about it ,Birmingham is a white and Asian minority city so you gotta think about connecting flights for Turkish. All flights from ISB to IST to BHX actually suit the timings of arrival into Birmingham.
Be nice to see an late evening arrival from turkey actually

Islamabad connectivity is mainly Emirates, followed by Qatar, since they offer additional flights. Turkish only offers 1 flight to ISB, with additional one with PIA. There’s a huge demand for other places such as Eastern Asia, India, not just Pakistan

True however there’s connection flights to and from Ashbaghat aswell infact making time worthy for both morning flight and afternoon flight

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
