Something that's also unbelievable are the alcohol lines from the cellar to the taps. The beer lines literally stretch the length of half the terminal in some cases.
There must be a good few pints in just the lines themselves.

I totally despise self service tills,
Me too! Unfortunately, many retailers now think along the lines of 'why employ check out staff, when we can get the customers to do it'. Personally, I like to have someone to chat to at the check out.

Flying out to Bergerac today. Very quick bag check, extremely helpful Jet2 staff.
Straight through security. Upstairs didnt seem very but as expected very few seats spare. Flight delayed slightly but Jet2 staff circulated through departures advising delayed passengers- a nice personal touch. Pilot gave a very humorous information announcenent before take off- another nice touch.
Smooth boarding so lots of positives.
Cant fault Jet2.

One thing that looked really bad was litter in the 'bus shelter' Didnt look like it had been cleaned for some time.

My wife and I flew Ryanair to Reus on Sat pm. Airport very busy, as anticipated. Travelled light with cabin baggage early and had fast track so through security in 25 minutes. The “other” queue for security stretched back beyond the main entrance and towards the Jet2 terminal, so goodness knows how long that line took to clear security. Terminal very busy but we found seats quite readily and didn’t use any of the eateries. I also commented on the state of the “bus shelter”. Surely washing the glass and sweeping the floor is not too much to ask and would give a much better impression. Overall, a pretty good experience. A1Flyer is another matter, but not for this thread, and best avoided in future

Hope this is allowed on here. I always like to use LBA when i can and have always thought the experience good and enjoyable and hate it when i see people knocking our great little airport. I have just come back from LAX and hope you will allow me to report my horrible experience of MAN on this forum. We need the British Airways link to LHR back as a matter of urgency. BA use T3 at MAN extremely busy at 6-7 am due to large numer of FR departures. Hardly anywhere to sit or get a drink, gave up at Starbucks after 30 mins as my flight was due to depart and boarding. On return yesterday, airbridge broken, so had to deplane using back steps onto the tarmac, after they had first unloaded all the luggage so that took nearly 40 minutes, then had to wait over a further 30 minutes in the delapidated baggage hall which makes LBA‘s baggage hall look 5 star. Walk to T3 car pick up point is about twice as far as LBA’s free car park and was charged £12 for the experience. Don’t ever complain about LBA, it’s paradise at LBA compare to T3 at MAN. Lets have the Heathrow like back as soon as possible

  • Still No sign of construction starting on site if the airport terminal extension.
  • Just checked myself in for the FR2048 down to ACE. Only have the self service check-in kiosks are working in Hall A.
  • Through security within 5 mins. No need to fast track.
  • Only half the self service counters are working in duty free.
  • Loads of seating available in the departure gates area once through security & duty free.
  • The free airport WiFi isn't working.
  • And now the isn't enough seating in the Yorkshire lounge for everyone else, even though I've bagged myself a nice view whilst having the obligatory preflight Airport beer.

Thanks....Oh Dear...The desks in Hall A were a problem back in late August when we went through....Any sign of the new scanners in security...I was told there were being installed in November but at least they are on a set time to install and they'll have to get on with it...Let's hope some sort of construction gets going before I'm too old to travel....and it's not that far off....In the meantime have a great holiday down in Lanzarote

If they dont start early November its hardly worth them bothering until winter 24/25. They needed a good run at it.

In my view that is extreme profiteering which if true LBA should do something about as it will get the airport a bad name. It is however quite reasonable to expect to pay 'airport' prices as all airports have to pay in my view, excessively high rents for trading there. All they then do is pass those costs on to the punters and we quire naturally moan.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
