An article about Air One, in Simple Flying, it is the only 747 still flying in the UK. It plans to obtain a second 747 by the end of this year.

The article states that OneAir have appointed a handling agent at LHR, which implies that's where they think they'll operate commercial flights from. How much impact that'll have on the presence of its aircraft at CWL remains to be seen...

I know its been mentioned on here before in regard to the page on facebook called Cardiff Airport Flights and deals but thought it was worth mentioning they have reached 18,000 followers today and its rising fast.
They have had to reiterate that its run purely as a hobby and are in no way connect to the airport or receive any financial gain from it. Many comments on there have said they have booked holidays from Cardiff because of their page.
I hope Cardiff Airport has or at some point will reach out to them to at least say thank you. The page is doing more to stick bums on seats than the airport is and they are doing it for free.

What are the chances of B.A.M.C doing the maintenance on the BA Airbus A.350K?
Do they have capacity to add to the B.777 and B.787?
I think G.XWBB arrived around 3 years ago for compatibility trials.
The aircraft dimensions are almost identical to the Boeing 777.300.

This is what winter 2023/24 for Cardiff is looking like at the moment
So far the airport has 45 weekly departures onsale. Still waiting for Ryanair and Eastern.
TUI 9 weekly departures (10 from 28/2/24) 5 destinations (6 from 28/2/24) 1 based aircraft
Loganair 6 weekly departures (4 in January and February) 1 destination
Vueling 5 weekly departures 2 destinations
Aer Lingus 5 weekly departures 1 destination
KLM 20 weekly departures 1 destination

An absolutely insane article from Wales Online. Apparently BudgetAir and Ryanair operate flights from CWL to AGP. Plus they seem to have included self transfer FR flights from AGP and possibly DUB in their list of destinations you can fly to from CWL. Talk about clicking the 'everywhere' option on skyscanner and just copying what comes up without even the slightest bit of actual research.
Not to mention the famous Spanish city of Bilboa.....The £19 flight from Cardiff Airport that will take you to this gorgeous beach

I agree, the writer of the article obviously no idea of where you can fly to from CWL, she obviously did no research at all before writing the article, and the editing staff didn't either.

Too be classed as travelling from Cardiff it needs too be on one ticket, separate tickets don't count. I haven't read the article and by the sounds of it i won't bother! Nice to see the Chief Executive being so enthusiastic, Benhaz Agtar also mentioned the airport on her aftertnoon programme today, she flew to Faro last week from CWL, and was glowing about how nice the airport was looking, and how much work was taking place there. Sorry miss Agtar if my spelling is incorrect.
I might be putting 2+2 together and getting 5 but perhaps now that Wrexham is sponsored by United, maybe they (United) have plans, or could be enticed, to start flying into Cardiff?

Yep but Wrexham and Cardiff are in the same country, though sometimes it doesn't feel like it.
I expect that any new route would go too Manchester, would be nice too think though that Cardiff is in their thinking.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that the Welcome to Wrexham show (as a result of celebrity investment - one investor having a significant social media presence) has put all of Wales on the map and not just Wrexham.
Americans who watch the show who are considering visiting will likely want to see more of Wales than just Wrexham. As far as an airline (such as United) who is wanting to "cash in" on the attention Wrexham/Wales is getting is concerned, they'll have an easier time selling a route to Cardiff, which is in Wales, compared to a city in the north of England (even though it's geographically closer to Wrexham).

As a North Wales resident, aside from promoting the fact Wrexham is in Wales, I’m struggling to see the connection as to how Cardiff would be more likely to get a United flight over say, Manchester? The programme will be promoting predominantly Wrexham and North Wales, and those who will be inclined to visit are likely to look at Geography and try and fly to the airport closest to where it is they actually want to go. There seems to be a mentality that Cardiff and Cardiff only should serve the whole of wales, forgetting that for residents north of the Brecons, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester are much better placed to serve those areas than Cardiff. I mean, it’s roughly 1 hour from Wrexham to Manchester, 40 minutes to Liverpool but a whopping 3h20 on a good run to Cardiff. Why on earth then do people think Cardiff can serve the North Wales demographic?
It’s like saying Newcastle is more likely to get a flight because there’s a programme promoting Brighton, and forget Geography, they are both in England so it makes sense Newcastle gets a flight too.
Regardless of ‘wales being promoted’, I genuinely can’t see a United flight to Cardiff based solely off the back off this sponsorship. Sorry if that offends or triggers anyone but I think we need to think sensibly here.
