Good news that BHD will be daily, that brings it essentially back to close to pre pandemic numbers.

After reading an entry on the other forum, I checked the Aer Lingus website, and it shows New York as a destination from CWL, is there a possibility that they may be starting the Dublin route back up?

Yes i noticed that and found it a bit odd. With Ryanair daily would they be able to compete? And i think the transatlantic market isn't strong at the moment so they'd have to get a bigger share of the point 2 point market to make the route sustainable.

Reports alluding on a social media platform that EIR is to begin a DUB service from CWL - I guess it would mainly be to feed their USA bound traffic…

However, on the EI website it is listing NYC as a destination under CWL.

What I also found was they are now listing AGP and ALC too, then diverting you to VY if you chose those flights (yet no sign of PMI).

Nice to see the IAG group websites getting streamlined!

Aer Lingus has been showing NYC as a destination from CWL for some time, perhaps there is some truth in the rumours on social media. Air Wales ran a Dublin service alongside FR many years ago, perhaps they realise how many people from South Wales are using their BRS service.

If Aer Lingus launches Dublin they must have too be pretty confident that they can get enough point too point traffic too top up any onward connecting traffic and the times will have to be good for transferring traffic.

It’s a surprise really that they operate BHD without DUB … DUB with EIR would be a good boost.

On SeanM’s Twitter there’s quite a bit of “speculation” regarding some new routes from CWL generally …

If I was a betting man I'd say that speculation is nothing more. If I was an optimist, a limited new flybe base would be the ideal for those missing city routes.... Glasgow, Paris etc

I personally don't think the airport will go near Flybe, they've been burnt too much by them and i suspect they will want to concentrate on the airlines they have on routes like Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh and build up the LCC offering at the airport from the likes of Wizz, Vueling, Ryanair and potentially any other LCC type airlines they can attract.
It would be interesting to see how Aer Lingus would get on if they launched Dublin considering the last time they had competition of the route they dropped it.

I've noticed on the airports departure board that BA are codesharing on the Belfast City flight.

I've noticed that there are no flights onsale for Aer Lingus for Dublin for the Ireland game in the 6Nations. I'm sure that in previous years they've had flights onsale by now.

I know that the Irish Rugby team have used Aer Lingus for their flights in the six nations, but I don't think the mainline Aer Lingus have sold tickets for a few years, maybe the regional that was Aer Arran did so.

There used to be A320 etc scheduled pre pandemic but it doesn't look like at the moment we'll see them, i've no doubt we'll see an Aer Lingus A320 bring in the Irish team. Maybe they might operate some charters as well.

A flight for the rugby has appeared on Aer Lingus website for the 3rd February and 5th February it says operated by Emerald Airlines but the aircraft is an A320. Interesting turnaround time!
3/2/23 and 5/2/23
EI 3292 DUB-CWL 1200-1305
EI 3293 CWL-DUB 1315-1450

Block time to CWL is 1hr5mins, whereas back to DUB is 1hr35mins, so I suspect there's been a mistake somewhere and its likely a 1350 departure back to DUB, which would give a 45 minute turn in CWL and a 1hr block time back to DUB.

It's been noticed elsewhere that Cardiff to Dublin has reappeared on the Aer Lingus website but with no flights loaded.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
