I've read on two sites that Adria Airways will be transfer its Ljubljana to Manchester route to operate to Liverpool as of May 2020. Twice a week. The carrier is not am complete newbie to Liverpool, they operated in the form of Inex Adria to the then Yugoslavia.

Wonder what the loads were like on LJU-MAN this summer?

I don't know to be honest. Easyjet do Liverpool to Pula which is in same neck of woods, that had. 81% load factor in June.

Ex-Yu Aviation, your best source for all regional flight news, reports that Adria Airways will replace its flights to Manchester, to be discontinued at the end of the summer schedule, with a twice weekly service to Liverpool.

The flights are set to leave Ljubljana at 06:35 on Wednesdays, and 17:15 on Saturdays. The return trips leave at 08:40 (Wed.) and 19:20 (Sat.). Tickets can already be purchased online.

The Slovenian capital city of Ljubljana will have a direct link with Liverpool from 2020


Adria Airways is to become the latest airline to operate from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) after announcing a new route to Slovenia.

From next summer, the Slovenian carrier will start a twice-weekly service the the Slovenian capital city of Ljubljana. The first flight will take off on May 20 and operate until October 24.

The service will operate on Saturdays and Wednesdays using an 86-seat CRJ900 aircraft. Adria, which is a Star Alliance member, is the fourth new airline to announce operations from Liverpool taking the total up to nine.

Ljubljana is known for its university population and green spaces, including Tivoli Park. The curving Ljubljanica River is lined by outdoor cafes and divides the city’s old town from its commercial hub.

The city has many museums, including the National Museum of Slovenia, displaying historic exhibitions, and the Museum of Modern Art, home to 20th-century Slovene paintings and sculptures.

Paul Winfield, director of aviation development for LJLA, said: “We are delighted to welcome our latest carrier, Adria Airways to Liverpool. Adria will continue to serve the North West market, with an enhanced product, from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.”
