Does anyone know if Easyjet have put on any extra flights to Paris for the France v Wales game on the weekend? Just comes up as no flights on their app.
No extra flights shown on their website. Unlike Ryanair, I don't think that easyJet usually puts on extra flights for special occasions such as the Six Nations.

Their website shows BRS-CDG sold out tomorrow and Friday, and CDG-BRS sold out on Sunday.

It would seem that the days of mass airlifts to Paris for rugby internationals are over. FlyBe have 2 flights from CWL to CDG tomorrow and two on Friday and that is it. In the past there would have been numerous flights from both CWL and BRS. Perhaps the fans now go by Eurostar or car or coach. I am sure there will be many Welsh fans at the Stade de France on Friday night.

Yeah it is a lot easier to get there now. It seems that the French rugby airlift is now bi-annual. There should be a decent ammount of flights for the Italian game though. Fingers crossed we'll see some jet2 757s again!

The latest easyJet schedule update adds 4x extra weekly flights (checked in peak-summer) with 1x flight removed.

This means 13x extra weekly flights in comparison to the same time last year (which is an increase of 3%).

Based aircraft:
Extra flight to EDI - from 24 to 25 flights per week
Extra flight to PMI - from 18 to 19 flights per week
Extra flight to BOD - from 6 to 7 flights per week
Extra flight to DBV - from 2 to 3 flights per week

Away-based aircraft:
VCE reduces from 6 to 5 weekly in peak-summer

In comparison to last year, the these are the following changes:
MPL - 2x weekly (NEW)
LCA - 2x weekly (NEW)

PMI - 19x weekly (+2)
BOD - 7x weekly (+2)

EDI - 25x weekly (+1)
GLA - 20x weekly (+1)
BFS - 18x weekly (+1)
SXF - 6x weekly (+1)
DBV- 3x weekly (+1)
SVQ - 3x weekly (+1)

VCE - 5x weekly (-1)

I don't know how reliable this info is but I've just seen a comment on social media saying that Bristol might see the A321neo towards the end of 2019 but at the moment none of the crews are trained on it.

Depends how long its at BRS for. If its just a trial flight then the crew will come with the aircraft,or if its a series of flights then crew training will take place. Not much difference from a 320 to a 321. It would not take much to train BRS crew to operate the 321. It will be in BRS sooner rather than later. But lets see what happens towards the end of 2019 as it will be confirmed yes or no.

Apparently it needs a conversion course for the crew due to more exits and equipment.

Courses are required for both flight-deck and cabin crew on the A321.

For cockpit crew, there’s different weights, performance and most importantly length to consider (meaning slightly different procedures required to operate).

For cabin crew, as Jerry said, there are more exits, and as there are more seats, more cabin crew will be needed per aircraft.

Does the same apply for cockpit crew with the 319 and 320, with the latter being heavier and longer than the 319? Is not the 320 family (318-321) a common rating? If it is, from what you say pilots still have to undergo a further course before flying other members of the group (the 321 anyway) that they have not yet flown

The A318, A319, A320 and A321 are all under one common type rating.
However, given that in easyJet all the crews until now will be used to operating the A319/A320, the company will want their crews to complete familiarisation training on the A321.
The A319 and A320 are very similar and do not require such training but the A321 does and the crew are shown the differences of the fuel system, speeds, limitations/parameters. Lots of emphasis will also be made on the A321s length, and to be careful not to scrape the tail! Once the crew have seen the differences they will be scheduled for a number of flights with a training captain to get the feel for the aircraft.

Many thanks for that, Severn.

Paris completely sold out this week till next Saturday. Surely they wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to increase flights a second time will they ?

They would probably see high loads at 2 x daily but it's the old story that they might get better yields elsewhere, either on other BRS routes or at other airports, especially if they are short of aircraft for expansion at the moment (a lot are going to MAN this year).

What it does mean is that there is no opportuity for passengers to travel there and back in a day from either end.

On a lot of the major city routes like Paris Easyjet aren't cheap out of Bristol, so either they are earning very high yields or their costs are high. I have noticed though on a lot of the low frequency city routes the prices can be quite cheap. (i was looking at the end of March).

Some of the Crews are scheduled on the conversion course starting very soon.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
