PIA Landed 33 minutes early.
Took off LATE. by FOURTY minutes. How on earth did that happen?

A combination of processes and procedures that always hinder the turnaround added with the fact that most don't arrive to check in until very late on and then struggle to clear central screening.

Listen guys, don't shoot the messenger.....

Boeing 777 expected on the 10th December.

Like most people I will believe it when I see it.

Equipment for it has allready started to arrive.

I'm sure someone posted not so long ago saying the 777 won't be arriving till summer 12.
From all the rumours I read I believe it will happen we will just have to be patient and wait for it. What makes you believe its expected the 10th aviador??

If, when, whatever, whenever, a 777 arrives in to LBA, whether it belongs to PIA or anybody else, will it need more turn around time than other sizes? Taking PIA as an example would turn round time need to be extended given that the A310 is rarely on it's way on time?

Well if it does come on the 10th December, it is a pity that it is making its first visit ever in the dark, so no photos and hardly anything to see. I would imagine it might still be possible to turn it round in the same time as the A310 has a good couple of hours anyway. The cleaners might have to speed up a bit! I suspect that most of the delays occur due to problems with passengers anyway, and irrespective of what aircraft type flies in, that is not going to change any time soon.

Like everyone else, I will believe it when I see it, although since it will be dark it will probably be a case of seeing on Flightradar initially and then hopefully drive up to the airport to take a look.

I have heard more continuous rumours that the 777 is coming to LBA in Late Spring early Summer. Servis Air managers are getting various pictures and diagrams of the 777 and i have heard it will be parking on a remote stand. I believe the stairs and a pushback bar has turned up for the 777 and a bigger tug will come in the near future. That is what i am hearing from the lads of the frontline, personally i'll believe it when I see it. :good:

It's definitely the 10th Dec. That's from the Servisair Airside Duty Manager....good enough for me!

I to have heard it is a definite for Saturday the 10th Dec, but i have also heard that if the T7 does start to make regular visit, then it will no longer be a direct flight, as it will do Islamabad, Athens, Leeds, then the reverse on its way back!!!
Does anyone else have any knowledge on this, i don't see why it can't still be direct!!!

Nightflight, this is already being discussed on the 'Rumours' thread which you can find here:

topic111-440.html

There's currently around 3 pages full of it, so I've given you the link where it starts from the beginning.

Surely a check on FR24 shortly after the scheduled departure time from Islamabad will be proof? If it does say 777 I'm going up to see it. Yeah it'll be dark but still...

It may have to be a mad dash at the very last minute then....

Posts from other people seem like this is the most 'reliable' rumour of it's appearance so fingers crossed, and watch this space...

I have heard the visit on Saturday 10th could be postponed now because there is a B777 charter flight to the carribean that should have transited through MAN today but they have now been told it will be on the 10th using the 'spare' B777 that would have been used for an LBA flight.

Fingers crossed for LBA this isn't true

I think you will find that the charter that PIA are running through Manchester next week will be operated by a Boeing 747-300 on the Sunday 11th and Monday 12th.

The Boeing 777-200 to Leeds will be the day before that on Saturday 10th. But hell the weather could cancel everything if the BBC are correct. As Snow has been forecasted from Wednesday night onwards.

So its going to be one to watch out for!

That is a bit weird wawkrk, well spotted! Lets hope that an announcement is made soon before member 778 comes on board.

The equipment has alternated between B743, B777 and now back to a B743 again, but, I digress.

I have heard that the PIA manager at LHR is going up to LBA on 10th, and that the aircraft coming in is a B777-200ER.

Its even been rumoured that the exact aircraft in question is AP-BHX, but, given the way PIA operates that could well change.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
