Two more routes also operated by easyJet. Very odd given that Ryanair axed Malta this year after operating it year-round for most of this century whilst retaining the route at most of the other UK airports it serves from Malta, some with a smaller market, considerably so in some cases, than BRS.

easyJet took on Malta at short notice recently but only for the summer season it seems.

Excellent news although I would have thought Rome would have been a better bet

Excellent news although I would have thought Rome would have been a better bet
Rome has been talked about in this forum for years with its single-daily easyJet frequency consistently carrying very high loads. I know that both of us, and others, on F4A have often suggested Rome could easily see an enhanced frequency.

But, looking at summer 2022 Rome (FCO) has been reduced to 6 x weekly - no Thursday flights.

On the other hand Barcelona reverts to its pre-pandemic 2 x daily, 14 x weekly schedule and Madrid is back to daily. easyJet obviously know infinitely more about their business than we do yet from the outside the reason for reducing Rome is intriguing.

Perhaps Ryanair has the same feeling with Rome.

No press release on BRS website yet re Ryanair flights to Barcelona and Madrid. The Ryanair website has only included them in a summarised press release today within its total of eleven new routes from various UK airports this coming winter.

Friday 3 September 2021

BRS website and Ryanair booking engine showing two Ryanair Dublin rotations tomorrow morning within half an hour of each other. In fact, with the Aer Lingus Dublin flight there will be three departures to the Irish capital between 0730 and 0855.

The seat selector suggest the total seats occupied on the outbound (58 and 130) could be accommodated on one 189-seat aircraft - just. On the inbound the seats occupied are 98 and 121.

The next couple of Fridays show these frequencies and timings but later in the month one of the rotations is moved to mid-morning.

With the evening Ryanair Dublin rotation it means that there will be three Ryanair Dublin rotations in one day which was the normal schedule pre-pandemic but I suspect this is the first time since the virus effects began to bite last year.

There is also an early Sunday flight now as well . Demand must be picking up I guess

All six Ryanair Polish routes are now in the booking engine for summer 2022, including Rzeszow that was omitted this summer. However, these routes are only showing availability until the second/third week in June. I did some random searches at other UK airports for Poland next summer and many are showing nothing beyond the latter part of June.

BRS routes to such destinations as Kaunas, Riga, Bucharest, Budapest and Cologne also show curtailment from later in June.

At this stage it must be presumed that Ryanair is still working on its summer 2022 systems.

They are still loading I think. Dates and timings are available for august on the app
All the routes I mentioned are now showing availability right through summer 2022.

I had an email today from BRS saying that Ryanair would be starting/restarting more routes in October and November:

Barcelona El Prat (new route against easyJet), Cologne, Grenoble (ski season against easyJet), Madrid (new route against easyJet), Riga (new route), Rzeszow, Seville, Treviso, Vienna.

Not to mention Tui to chambery , easyJet to Lyon and easyJet/tui to Geneva. I also believe enter air could be flying to chambery again too. Ski business is big business from Bristol

Funnily enough I note that Grenoble is no longer bookable with jet2 this winter

3 Carriers on GNB?

Jet2, Ryanair and easyJet?

Or is it 3 to that area of France -

Jet2 to Chambery, the others to Grenoble.

@TheLocalYokel Can the BRS sustain that?
I don't think that Jet2 is operating from BRS to Grenoble in the coming ski season is it?

Ryanair is just once weekly and easyJet 2 x weekly, both to Grenoble as in previous ski seasons.

BRS traditionally has a very strong ski season market with, for example, 83 weekly scheduled flights and nine weekly charter flights to ski destinations pre-pandemic in winter 2019-2020. This is the list.

I don't know the full programme for the coming ski season, especially charter flights, nor how the pandemic will affect sentiment but in normal circumstances there should be no trouble finding passengers for the flights.

I think that Jet2 is also operating to Salzburg and Innsbruck this coming ski season along with easyJet and TUI.

I wasn't sure. I think they are going to Chambery which feeds the same area as Grenoble in terms of mountains/alps and ski resorts.

83 weekly flights from one airport is pretty impressive. I wonder how that compares to MAN/LGW. LHR I discount as the GVA route carries business.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
