I would like to see them operate through to Oslo via Aberdeen without an aircraft change. Its not likely though given their recent service revision to 3 times a day between Bristol, LBA and ABZ - but one day, perhaps.

Please mistake me if I'm wrong, but isn't today the official day Eastern Airways take over the LBA-BRS route..?

Yep. Air Southwest operated there last ever branded service with Dash 8-300, G-WOWE on Friday evening operating the Aberdeen-Leeds-Bristol-Newquay service. There AOC was withdrawn as of mid-night yesterday, Saturday, October 1st 2011.

R.I.P Air Southwest - 2003 - 2011

It is sad to see another airline disappear, but in another light, it will help Eastern Airways broaden their network into the south and compete with FlyBe..

R.I.P. indeed AirSouthWest.

I am not sure if anyone has noticed, but it appears that Eastern may be in the process of giving their ex Air South West Dash 8-300's a new paint scheme which is more in keeping with their own basic livery. I noticed that the Dash 8 arriving at LBA around 0830 on Friday morning was in an all white livery with a dark blue tail fin - the same blue that Eastern use as their livery, so it would seem that they might be going to give them a hybrid scheme?

I saw something similar White Heather, it might have been on Friday as well. I saw the aircraft depart over Ilkley and it did seem that the fin had been painted the same blue as Eastern use. It was too far away and high for me to see whether it had the Air SouthWest logo painted on the side of the aircraft but it does seem they are making a start..

At least two have been painted with a white body and blue tail but still awaiting titles. Some still have the ASW livery.

I understand that Eastern AIrways fleet's of BAe Jetstream 41's and Saab 2000's are to replace the (Ex Air Southwest) Dash 8's on a new revised scheduled for the Aberdeen - Leeds - Bristol service as of the summer timetable.

It looks like the Saab 2000 will be operating on the first and last rotation with the Jetstream 41 operating the middle service.

The incorrect information from Aviador will be my fault.

I checked the Monday rotations (as you describe) but hadn't realised the rest of the week didn't follow the same pattern.

Friday is interesting as it's unbalanced - two northbound journeys and three southbound with, apparently, the Jetstream spending Saturday (with the based Saab) at Bristol to work the sole northbound on Sunday (with no southbound on Sunday - seems odd).

I assume that this means we will not have a Dash 8 in the Eastern c/s. Shame, as I think it would have looked good.

Yep i'm afraid to say "seasider" that the Ex Air Southwest Dash 8's G-WOWA and G-WOWB are been withdrawn from service by Eastern Airways in March and April.

I also understand that G-WOWE was returned to Canada last month.

I think you have read it wrong Aviador. It reads to me as though the Embraer is for their charter operations and the mention of Leeds Bradford was purely as they had to link the story to Bristol airport.

This latest addition to the fleet will be assigned predominantly to the charter flying programme serving blue-chip companies, oil and gas organisations, corporations, sports teams, the music industry, delegations and individual groups flying across the UK, Western and Eastern Europe.

In any case, replacing the Saab 2000 with an ERJ would be a massive step backwards in terms of both capacity (ok, only 1 seat) and cost. The Saab can get across the sector in broadly the same time as an ERJ at a substantially lower fuel cost. The market will pay for the ERJ on a charter basis in a way the the scheduled market simply cannot afford. Just ask BMI regional.

Yes you are right whoshotjimmi. It's those weary eyes, not used to staying up so late. It's just as well like you say because it would have amounted to a capacity reduction.

Intresting that nobody has posted this yet, looks like Eastern Airways are adding a Sunday service http://www.easier.com/109204-new-sunday ... route.html

And with this new revised scheduled for the Aberdeen route it looks as though the Sunday Northbound Bristol-Leeds flight has been axed while Thursday and Friday the Bristol-Leeds-Aberdeen route only operates once daily where as the Leeds-Aberdeen remains 2x daily.

My guess is that Eastern Airways are struggling with the Aberdeen-Bristol service with it operating via a stop at Leeds using Saab 2000's, BAe Jetstream 41 props aircraft where as bmi regional are offering a 2x daily direct Embrear 135 jet service.

I always thought that a Saab came from Aberdeen then on to Bristol, and back again, on a Sunday after they took Air Southwest over. How can it be a new service?

Here's the new revised Eastern Airways Aberdeen and Bristol schedule for Leeds-Bradford Arrivals and Departures.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
