Thanks for the update. I am assuming the gates will be remote with no airbridges? Any news on removal of the porta cabins or are they likely to stay?

I don't have any further detail at present, there is another meeting in January, so ma find out more then. I think airbridges would be unlikely as none of the airports airline customers require them.

Today meeting revealed

Very large increases in passengers booking assistance travel, a new video will soon be available on the airports website in order to give disabled passengers tips and advice when usong the terminal building.

20 aircraft will be based at the airport this summer. 6M pax is the target and could well be obtained in 2026.

70K was raised for the airports charity , Alder Hey Children's Hospital from those participated in the night runway run 🏃‍♀️ 350 people took part.

A presentation from the Combined Authority regarding the Rapid Transit Vehicle plans. Vehicles are being assessed, there is a choice of 4- 6 potential manufacturers. They will carry up to 120 passengers, on limited stop services, on segregated road ways. Two routes will affect Liverpool Airport, one to the city centre which will have 7 stops en route ( more like platforms) and another route from the airport to Liverpool South Parkway Station, for rail passengers, this will be non stop or possibly a stop at the Estuary Business Park. There will be 4 depots, 1 will be located within the airport vicinity. The vehicles will be electric. The date for the Rapid Transit system to be in operation in 2028.

Airspace changes were discussed, and changes to happen. I dont really understand all this but Liverpool is in a region that includes Manchester, East Midlands and Leeds Bradford. Results from LBA are being awaited, then then the airspace changes will go forward.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
