So Jet2 now offer 72 routes out of Birmingham and are looking at 17 aircraft for peak summer I believe (subject to change of course). They sure have built up a very impressive operation 👍

Egypt press release below.

Is that 72 routes for summer 2026? or does that include the 2 new Egypt destinations, so that would be 72 routes for summer 2027?

17 aircraft confirmed at present for peak summer 2026, 7 A321neos, and 10 B738s, most gaps have been filled, 1 A321neo has down time (maintenance) on a Tuesday, and 2 738s Wednesday afternoon for maintenance, only gap I can see is an A321neos on Thursday morning.

With Egypt that's 72 destinations in total including summer/winter only routes and those short season breaks.

Also got 11 B738s for Tuesday unless they change there times on the Chania route

Jet2 have a couple of flights to be re-timed for summer 2026, Chania might be one on them, still currently expecting the schedule to only need 10 B738s, although they do often base an extra spare B738 to cover any tech aircraft.

Looks like a few adjustments were made to the jet2 Aircraft schedule for summer 2026

  • Looks like we’re losing an A321Neo to Gatwick with a replacement B738 aircraft .6 A321Neos showing Monday and Wednesday-Sunday. 5 A321Neos Tuesdays.11 based B738s Mondays and Wednesday to Sunday and 12 based Tuesdays

  • Tuesdays schedule shows 2 B738 gaps to cover after the Santorini flight and cover a morning flight before the Chania service in the afternoon and a spare A321neo in maintenance

  • Wednesday schedule is basically spot on what matt said.2 spare B738s out for maintenance on Wednesday afternoons.

  • Thursday schedule should only see one gap in its timetable with flight need to cover the Morning shift on the A321Neo before the kos flight in the afternoon.

  • Changes still be made to the schedule especially Saturdays with changes need to be made for Kos on the evening flight with it needing pushed back to allow time for its flight and Alicante flight needs brought forward if unless things change which they probably will happen.

  • Sundays schedule only sees one change need happening and that’s Heraklion flight needs to brought forward an hour.
Timetable will be posted on Birmingham timetables👇🏻

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
