Ah but lets just blame the orange man as per! I blame the Iranian regime! Jet2 flights to Turkey will be full, its a well known brand and safe bet, to many sun express is still an unknown, hope they return or another turkish carrrier gives lba a try in the near future.

I blame BN. He wanted this war just like he wanted the Iraq war.

But it’s good news for Jet2 as they have all turkey routes from LBA to themselves.

Sure he did, but the orange man was dumb enough to start it for him and now hasn't a clue how to stop it. And the entire world is now paying the price.

I think the thread should stick to Jet2 and LBA. The politics involved is quite polarising. Personally, I don’t come on this thread to read about Benjamin Netanyahu or Donald Trump, I’d happily read that on current affairs threads.
Neither do I, but the fact is that between them and Iran they are impacting aviation worldwide with carriers going bust and airlines withdrawing services, and impacting LBA. So its relevant provided it doesn't descend into all politics and no aviation relevant to our airport.

40,000 iranians slaughtered because they were against the iranian regime, women raped and murdered in the most horrid ways, gays hung and pushed off buildings because of their sexual preference which im sure would impact many members on here, hamas, hezbollah and the regime all interconnected, we seem to forget the thousand or so poor Israelis that all got murdered at that 7th oct outdoor by hamas. The poor jews always seem to get the short straw, im glad they have BN as leader as he dont take no crap! And this is the terrorist government that would of had access to nuclear bombs! But lets all blame the orange man esp for the loss of our x4 weekly sun express flights haha its just laughable what i read on here sometimes! The currect disruption is a small price to pay to get things right, we are talking the middle east here so of course it was not going to be a quick war but id rather have this conflict than iran continue with their ways, i actually know a couple of iranian driving instructors who tell me the regime need to be eliminated

Just remember that this is a temporary suspension, they made that clear in their statement, it is likely they will be back for S27. Regardless 5 flights per week is nothing compared to the devastation caused by the war, if so far we have only lost 5 flights a week I don't think LBA is doing too bad.

Jet2's flight down to Malaga which left stand around 1605, appears to have taxied as far as R32 at the top of taxiway Delta, then done a 180 and taxied back to the far Eastern end of the ramp. The flight was due to be operated by 737 300
G-GDFL.

G-DRTD LBA-ACE left LBA 1548 started squwarking 7700 in the climb and just landed at MAN.
Looks to be stationary on the southerly runway with the remaining runway handling all traffic.
Jet2 site shows a lightning strike on departure and a revised time of 1750 from Man.

That may be why the Malaga flight returned to stand, if informed the departure before it had been struck by lightning. Must be very localised as I have heard nothing here in Cookridge.

Anyone know what the Porto Santo departure was at 1738? Can't see it coming back on Flight Radar
Cheers
It's going back to Bristol, the inbound flight from Funchal to Bristol was cancelled on Monday. Other flights today are going to Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham. Presumably Funchal is being difficult to access at this moment

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
