Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Do we know which aircraft this is?
A red tail from the newer batch, owned and fitted with a Sky interior. The rumour is that HJ has been chosen, although that could still change. Apparently it will be based at Liverpool with 24/7 operations, no slots, a good weather record, and plenty of football teams and major business headquarters in the area. Interesting development.

After what Lufthansa did last night, Im starting wonder if the fuel crisis could see off Jet2’s ageing fleet of 7x fuel thirsty Boeing 737-300’s sooner rather than later.?

If so it would have a major effect on the Leeds/Bradford base routes & schedules.
Made this observation fairly early on in the crisis and still maintain it has to be a possibility. Things generally look like like they are starting to go on a downward spiral which is running far wider than just LBA.

Think most airports are probably going to have to be prepared to make a small step back to then be able to move forwards post crisis Jet2's compromise may be to retire the 2 x 733's sooner than the intended end of S26 season. But as ever I am sure they will make the right business decision

Looks like the fuel crisis may not be going on far to much longer with the straight now open.

However the green lunatics and net zero freaks will continue to make life hell.
Still going to be a big impact. A lot of production facilities damaged. Political situation will be fragile as well.

Ok the strait of hormuz might be reopened. But we aren’t out of this fuel crisis yet.

Them empty fuel ships have to go to port, load up and then sail to the UK. It’s going to be another good 2/3 weeks before they arrive at UK refineries.

Oh and now the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) say they need further assurances that it’s safe for ships to navigate through the straight without hitting a mine and it will be in accordance with international law.

On top of that, even if things were fully resolved in say the next week, the overall recovery time from the impact of the war is going to be loooooooong so we are far from out of this situation. There are going to be interesting times ahead but as is said many times, Jet2 don't get much wrong so they will know if it makes sense to retire any or all of their B733s earlier than planned. The one definite is we know we have 18-19 months max (no pun intended for once) to go before they are all retired

Oh it’s closed again.

Must be getting ready for LUFC European charters when they win the FA Cup...

In all seriousness I could see sports teams (incl RL teams to Perpignan) being key users of this perhaps?

Good move by Jet2. They have been doing a lot of sports charters of late.

Looks like 733 G-GDFK was Bournemouth football team’s team bus there and back to Newcastle who they played yesterday (Saturday). The proposed business class 738 mentioned above would do very nicely next season for trips such as this.

LBA HRG appears to have increased to 2 X weekly for April and October 27. SSH appears to be Winter Ops only
Quick check of the Jet2.com booking system - Hurghada (HRG) remains weekly with Sharm going October through April.

Would appear HRG is selling better than Sharm. Probs given it's geography. Sharm never really fully recovered following the MetroJet incident.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
