Leeds Bradford: £100m Regeneration Programme REGEN

Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Reasons could be that some older phones only support 4G whilst not all areas from the different providers have 5G coverage.
As of mid-2026, almost all major UK mobile network operators and virtual networks (MVNOs) offer 5G, meaning there are no mainstream providers without it. While all four core networks (EE, Vodafone, O2, Three) offer 5G.
The smaller companies like GIFF GAFF, Tesco Mobile, SKY etc all piggy back on one of the main companies above.
Surely LBA haven't put in a 4G network to cater for the few who can't get 5G mobile, as I said they will want to use the airport's free WIFI and can use there mobile for WIFI CALLING……They obviously have done it for a reason but I can’t think what?

The new Starbucks is in the current Starbucks seating area (currently hoarded off). The front of it (serving area) is in the old gate 5/6 area which is not far from where the old escalators took you downstairs.

The new WHSmiths is in the area of the old lounges which you will walk past on your left hand side on the way to the terminal extension.

Monty’s Diner (opening date TBC) will be in the area of the old Saltaire bar/restaurant.

Hope that makes sense.

Saw a post on LinkedIn that they have opened the new area today, does anyone have any pictures?

Today we open another phase of our terminal expansion at Leeds Bradford Airport! Initially, the space adds a much improved area for customers requiring assistance, new bathrooms and additional free seating but the space is primarily an enabler of the remaining developments to come thru 2026. Look out for a new WHSmith store, reconfigured gate space, a refurbished (very blue) Starbucks, the new Monty’s diner, reconfigured security and a brand new 1000sqm World Duty Free store across a very busy 2026.Just look at those ceilings…!

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
