I thought, whilst it was quiet, that I would create a thread showing the general wellbeing of the UK airports - this is not specific to any one airport and therefore does not warrant being repeated on each and every airport's own thread.

Please let me know your thoughts and whether you feel it is worth my while repeating on a monthly basis - it only takes about 20 minutes to produce. Alternatively if you think there is a better location then please suggest away!!

There are 3 charts - Movements, Passenger numbers and finally freight.

It is a very interesting comparison to read and if it isn't too much trouble should be continued. One suggestion if I may. If it is possible to fix the header so it remains a fixed header when the rest of the charts move down it would be better still.

Thanks for your work, Scottie Dog.
However, there seem to be some of errors in the % change column for the freight table.
For example, Birmingham, Feb 20 shows 2374.89 (tonnes I assume), whilst Feb 21 shows 1513.05 but the % change show 28.69.
I make that -36.29%
Similarly for Benbecula Feb 20 = 2.52 whilst Feb 21 = 2.03. A drop of 19.4% (table shows 3.20%)
Doncaster Sheffield shows Feb 20 = 1066.29 and Feb 21 = 3804.45 (+256.79%) table shows -100%
East Midlands Feb 20 = 25228.39, Feb 21 32005.91 (+26.87%) table shows 13.49%

There are some others. If you've used a program like Excel, you may want to check the equation that you used.

Thank you Kevin for pointing out the error of my ways. I really shouldn't start to do these projects late in the day or assume that my Excel formula are correct without doing selective "manual" checking!

Thanks for your hard work, Scottie Dog. I put the errors down to gremlins.
It just needs a negative (-) symbol in front of the Birmingham % change figure.

This thread has been created to permit the posting of monthly airport statistics from the CAA, and other sources, in one place. This will reduce the need to post the same data in individual airport threads.

Previously this was covered by a thread in the AVGeek thread "Airport News - General airport statistics & CAA data release dates". Unfortunately with the reordering of some of the forums this thread was lost however it has been recreated now.

Individual airport statistics can of course continue to be posted in the relevant thread.

As some of you may be aware I have been struggling to catch-up with a backlog of statistics. As a result I have therefore decided that it is best to restart from this September (the latest date for CAA data) and then, going forward I can hopefully stay up-to-date.

Here, for a starter, is my comparison of September figures for 2019-2023. Please note that there is always a difference in the passenger numbers quoted in CAA Table 9 (used for this report) and the breakdown of International & Domestic passengers in Tables 12.2 & 12.3 (that I use for the individual airport reports).
