Completely agree...WH should take over LBA marketing! Part of the issue over the years is that whilst Jet 2 has had robust marketing and hence its stellar growth, LBA's marketing has been pretty mediocre. The turnover of staff ( at all levels ) and now redundancies at lba meant there has been no constant. You'd think they'd look at Jet 2 and ask them for support.

I applied for a job as PR and marketing assistant around 2012 whilst still working as it was my dream job . Despite explaining my pro airport background and my long term management position in the Civil Service, I didn't even get past the first cut. The job went to someone younger and, no doubt fresh out of University. I have little doubt either that they are not there now. This was if course in the day if the previous owners. During a subsequent chat with the then Chief Executive, I told him I had applied, but he had no idea.

We need more Petition signatures & even more sharing

View attachment 21235

Hi all

We LBA Support Group hope you've all had a very nice Christmas and are currently enjoying the festive holidays, Our on-going petition campaign has just reached over 1,350 signatures.

Thankyou for all the support you have show us so far.

Now with the New Year fast approaching we need you help more than ever, as we try to gain even more signatures & sharing of our petition.

Please - If you value Leeds Bradford Airport, what it brings to the region, and the employment opportunities it generates, please sign and continue to share our petition to anyone and everyone you may know!

Please - Don't assume the airport's new £150 terminal development will be approved by Leeds City Council in January 2021 and don't under estimate the real impact if it isn't

Lets all help make 2021 an extraordinary one for LBA!

You'd have been brilliant WH...you're proactively is way better than what is being demonstrated by LBA now.
Thank you......but I am struggling with the on line ways of today. You have LBASpotter and Aviador to thank too. It's been a team effort. I have really only done the drafting. I wouldn't have known where to start with the petition.

I just wish that it had been possible to gather support using the tried and tested method as I am convinced we could have over 20,000 instead of 1351 , but Covid put paid to that.

At last, I don't believe it!
For some unknown reason one of the moderators at "LeedsFace" Facebook page have just shared our post from yesterday asking for more signatures & shares of our petition.

It only links to the Support Group Facebook page not the petition? Unless someone is a die hard supporter of LBA, they'll lose the will to live any more than about three clicks.

Petition Update:

1,370 petition signatures - Happy New Year

View attachment 21243

Hi everyone

With 2020 coming to an end, we the LBA Support Group would just like to update you all on our petition campaign. Its been 4 weeks since we launched this campaign, we've reached 1,370 petition signatures so far, whilst its been shared 900 times. Thank you for your support.

On what will be the 90th anniversary since the first flight took-off (October 17th, 1931) from what was back then known as Yeadon Aerodrome. 2021 could turn out to be one of the most exciting chapters in the 90 year history of Leeds/Bradford Airport and the Leeds City Region.

We really need as many signatures as possible, So that we can go show Leeds City Council (City Plans Panel) members in January 2021 how much support the is out there for them to approve Leeds/Bradford Airport's brand new £150 million Terminal building development.

As we get ready for our final push early in the new year, we really do need all your help NOW more than ever. PLEASE sign our petition and continue to share it with everyone you may know.

Finally we would like to wish all a Happy New Year.

I thought the petition might pick up a little today, people have gone back to work for one day and opened there inboxes after 10 days off.

Sad thing about it them inboxes might now stay closed for awhile as we now go into a 6 week lockdown.
And the rest I suspect. I can see this going until March at least.

Without being too glass half empty White Heather I think that March is a very glass half full outlook. You did say until March at least though, which I suppose is a nod towards my more cautious view. Whatever the outcome let us hope that we finally see an end to this curse called Covid sooner rather than later (and LBA get their planning approved eventually).

May have already asked in the past before but how much longer can LCC push back the decision? is there a law to say its got to be decided within X amount of time?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
