It will be nice to see Aeroflot fly Birmingham International BHX as-well - we must be proud of Birmingham - We need Russia in the midlands- (PRAY FOR PEACE IN WORLD )

Aeroflot are not welcome at BHX :poop::poop::mad::mad: and we certainly do not need Russia in the midlands.

Glad they have been kicked out of the sporting events, and glad that today they were kicked out of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Re: PPE, why oh why do we need to import PPE from the likes of Russia and China anyway. Can we not even make PPE in the UK ?

This is laughable, even though a few extra 777s was a nice bonus at BHX , I would rather we didn't have to import basic stuff like PPE in the first place ?

I would assume that in the light of sanctions imposed this morning, there will be a ban on freight flights into BHX from Russian airports....
All flights from Russia to the UK and in UK air space have been banned, along with any Russian registered aircraft and any aircraft hired by a Russian company (wherever it's registered). Having said that, there don't appear to have been any freight flights from Russia to BHX for a couple of weeks.

Howrver to any friendly Russian citizens who have made Birmingham your home, you are most welcome. I have no beef with you what so ever (y)
I agree. The world's anger is not at the Russian people, or your airline. It is at your leader and his cronies. When he is gone and you are free of tyranny, you are more than welcome to fly into BHX. We need vodka!

No idea really, Kevin. Although on another site it is suggested that an announcement is imminent. If they intend to start in April they will have to firm up on plans very quickly. I have no idea on their fleet size to get started. I did catch sight of the Dash-8-400 on approach a couple of times during the morning.

I noticed that a Star Air B767-200 (OY-SRJ, SR6978), arrived at BHX from CGN at 01:12. It departed to BFS at 03:18 under the flight number AWC6978.
Searching FR24 for 'SR6798' show this to normally operates via EMA, as does 'AWC6978'. Is there more work underway at EMA to cause it to route via BHX?

Kevin

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
