I recall Spantax operating a 4 Engine Coronado out of BHX and the RAF with L1011 for MEDEVAC stops for Selly Oak and QE hospitals. This aside, an excellent piece of work and a reference for the record. Thank you Matt!

I also regularly saw SPANTAX CV990 Coronado's at BHX, but not sure they were still operating by 1986. A wonderful aircraft to see, though!

Also, if relevant to charters, British Airways Concorde!! The flight I paid £600 to Paris CDG although it may have been post 1986 but before the crash that eventually led to early retirement of the glorious aircraft. An unforgettable experience. And there was Biman bringing the DC-10 on its retirement from passenger service and the joyrides offered.

I guess Matt has focused on 'regular charters'. 'One-offs' would number in the thousands. I remember Interflug TU-134's, Alitalia A300's (for school exchanges), not to mention all of the flights for the Cup Winners cup final etc.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
