I've been planning on grabbing a skyline shot but I think that I'll wait a few more months for the cores of The Mercian and 103 Colmore Row to be topped out (y)

Located within the building’s glazed crown will be the highest altitude dining experience found in the UK outside of the capital with a sky lounge and fine dining restaurant.

Heard a rumour around town yesterday that they were increasing the height of the 103 Colmore Row crane this coming weekend.

You can imagine my delight as I was walking to work this morning at 07.45am when I came across this.

That view will be totally different if/when some of the Eastside towers get built.

I thought that the next Paradise building would have started by now?

No Kevin they did it with the existing crane.

You can see it all here on this video taken by BobB1 on Skyscrapercity. It is truly amazing what they do. (y)

Cheers, I always wondered how they did it. It seems obvious when you see it.
I'm glad it's them up there though and not me. It makes my knees go wobbly just looking at it and towards the end of the video, a man climbs a ladder above the cab as if he was just going up the stairs at home.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
