We’re ready for you Broad Street. This is where we’ll grow and rise above Birmingham’s skyline. We’re bringing 483 apartments and a U.K residential first – a rooftop running track! Get ready for next generation living.

Not quite. Airpoint in Bedminster a southern suburb of Bristol has had a rooftop running track for several years.

Hi Yokel,

Good point you make, however I think they are talking more about that it is a first for a residential skyscraper ;)
Airpoint is a residential apartment building. I think it's six storeys high. Not a skyscraper in the accepted sense but Bristol, a city that traditionally doesn't like and has not gone in for very high buildings, probably thinks it is.:)

Is that light brown building just to the right on the site fairly new? Such a small building in such a prime spot seems a real wasted opportunity.

That Travelodge needs to go (n)

That light brown building was meant to be a high rise, however BCC Planning dept refused on the basis that that street behind Broad street is unsuitable for a tall building ? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

What planet do planning officials really live on, it really makes my blood boil. Oh and in front of that diddly squat 5 storey block will be a gigantic 42 storey tower, CONFUSED.COM I know I am really confused.

Even matching the red building behind it would have been ok!

When's this section meant to be complete again?

Great photos of Exchange Square Brum X! Think I need to head into Birmingham sometime soon to see everything in person.

Your welcome buddy (y)

They are saying phase 1 will be complete in 2019, but they have a lot of work to do especially fitting out all those flats in the taller tower of Phase 1. Cant see it myself, the shorter buildings will be complete but not sure about the 78 metre tower. It might look finished from the outside but totally complete

It looks better in the flesh than on all of the pictures I have seen.

Metro Bank seems to be taking forever. I don't go into Birmingham as often as I used to but when I do there never seems to be any progress

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
