It doesn’t stop there though as easyJet is also now offering passengers flights to Hurghada in Egypt.

Hurghada offers a nonstop link to northern Africa and a direct route to Egypt’s Red Sea coastline.

Flights to both Lyon and Hurghada can be booked online via the easyJet website now.

Hurghada starts from October 29 while Lyon starts on December 13.

Both services will operate twice a week once they are up and running.

Whether you’re booking your first holiday of the year or you’re looking for another place to explore before the year is over, flights to both destinations are now on sale.

The Izmir route is now bookable again, it had looked as if this wasn't operating next year, but has returned along with Easyjets other Turkish routes.

Hurghada route, will now be operating in the summer also, not just a winter route. There are talks of an 8th aircraft based for 2024.

I said when Jet2 announced Liverpool that easyJet would probably come back fighting. If the 8th materialises I suspect it’ll be carbon copy of what Jet2 is offering backed by easyJet holidays.

There were some who thought Easyjet would retract from Liverpool upon Jet2s arrival. What has happened is its given them a bit of a kick up the backside. I've always said the duopoly they and FR had is not good for the airports growth.

Very much so. It’s needed. The other thing is how quick will Liverpool become constrained regarding stands.

With 7, suspected 8 aircraft, and 5 from Jet2 how much more space is there for expansion.

and is there any room for additional stands to be added if needed?

I dont think that a real problem. The apron is pretty large, there is also land to the east of the old control tower available, which I understand is to be added. Next year could be 8 Easyjet, 5 Ryanair and 4 Jet2

easyJet base at LPL - summer 2024
easyJet had 7x aircraft based at LPL during summer 2023 (3x A319s / 4x A320s)

The current schedule loaded for summer 2024 is showing as 2x A319s / 5x A320s which means easyJet is growing capacity (swapping an A319 for an A320), but the base will remain at 7x aircraft (all subject to change of course!)

An Easyjet A319 left Liverpool for the last time today, bound for St Athan . Due to be retired from fleet. G EZAS. Left at 15.12. As EZY 9001

Those A319 are going at a pace as several have gone to the can factory in last couple of weeks

That’s because EasyJet are gradually retiring the A319s over the next few years. I think they plan to have them all retired in 4 years

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
