The BMI munich bound to Southampton came to Bristol yesterday as did 3 other domestic flights due to fog in Suthampton.

Further diversions this lunchtime, 2 x DH8D from EXT, 1 EZY A319 from SEN & a Cityflyer E190 from LCY.

Interesting to see Fybe diverting to BRS. They usually use CWL or BHX if they can't get into EXT or EXT or BHX if they can't get into CWL.

In Addition to the Flybe today there were no less than 3 klm on the apron around 11 this morning
A fokker 70 ( from where ?? ) a Emb.175 ( Cardiff divert ???) and the Bristol Emb.190

I think the KLM F70 may have been a Southampton diversion.

I don't know about the E175. South Wales Aviation Group log shows two KLM Cityhoppers at CWL today, both of which landed more or less on time: an F70 this morning and an E175 at teatime.

Incidentally, the Bristol Post (formerly Evening Post) that loves to highlight diversions away from BRS when the weather closes in still tries to put the boot in when BRS takes diversions from other airports.

Today it carries a story with the headline: Passengers stranded at Bristol Airport after flights diverted due to fog.

It's only when a reader looks at the story that it becomes apparent that these passengers have been diverted to BRS from other airports. Inevitably the Post has found some quotes from displaced passengers that appear to blame the airport for airlines not arranging coaches quickly enough to convey the passengers to their 'home' airport.

The weather forecast for tomorrow could be better. Very heavy rain forecast with strong winds. The rain could turn to snow which might cause problems.

Fortunately, although it was wet for much of the day it didn't turn to snow in the Bristol area although the local news said there was a smattering at BRS. Looking at the boards though it didn't seem to lead to any cancellations.

There might be a light covering of snow in the morning but thereafter through the weekend it is forecast to become less cold with no more snow in the mix. Friday though will be cold and icy.

Weather dept talking about getting much colder next week.Lets hope they will be wrong again.

This usually gives a good indication. If you animate the jet stream program you can see its position relative to UK. If it is over us or to the north of us we are fine. If it goes to the south of us it pulls in cold arctic air.

For next week it is mainly over us.

Around 26-28 jan we will see the stream to the south of the isles pulling in an arctic burst.

A few more diversions into BRS this morning, Skywork SB20 shortly arriving from Basel, a LCY div & a Eastern SB20 from Leeds, a SOU div. Also a re-routed Aurigny E190 scheduled to operate in over lunchtime, i'm guessing it's the LGW service. 2 Biz jets also in earlier, EXT & BOH divs.

I have to give the local weather forecasters credit - I don't always. They said last night that the fog would only affect the eastern part of the Bristol region. They seem spot on so far as BRS is concerned.

Looking at the boards, other airports seem to have caused some problems. KL 1049 due 0945 from AMS is now showing an eta of 1225 and EZY 6162 due 1100 from AMS is now showing an eta of 1340.

FR 7226 (dep 0630) to Krakow was diverted to Katowice and is shown operating from there with a return eta of 1545 instead of the scheduled 1210. I looked at the Krakow boards and several other aircraft were also diverted to Katowice. Krakow seems open again so let's hope that EZY 6275 that departed BRS at 1010 will be able to get into Krakow.

the reason ams flights disrupted was fog in ams. there was a second eastern divert from sou to add to the list.

I see klm 919 diverting into brs its due about 17 15. its divertrd from sou. its a fk70 reg ph kzm

I see the eastern ncl rotation into cwl diverted straight into brs this morning. they bused over the pax to operate the return from brs.

the mid day man flybe rotation diverted into brs today and operated the return to man with pax. also the tom that diverted in on Monday that was due into Exeter, overnited and did the Exeter rotation to tfs from brs.

Is it correct to state that these diversions (assuming the pax disembark) will be added to BRS monthly pax numbers?

If so, it will distort the pax statistics for Dec and Jan 17 as there have been quite a lot.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
