Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

It sounds like it's being a horrendous day weather wise in Scotland today.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

How far is Prestwick from GLA int? must be of some distance if it remains open when GLA is SNOCLO...

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

Tonight's forecast looks interesting with gusts up to 61 Knots! :shok: Forecasters are predicting severe gales for much of Scotland but I would imagine PIK being near the coast will be hit worse than GLA although 61 Knots is extremely high so GLA may see some diversions this evening.

ALL easyjet flights to/from Glasgow tomorrow morning (Tuesday 24th May 2011) have been cancelled due to the Ash Cloud.

Does anyone know what's going on with G-CELU ?

The GLA based a/c was supposed to operate FAO in the morning and PMI in the afternoon and didn't left yet to FAO.

(I know this is the LBA forum but the GLA forum is deserted)

Jet2 Glasgow based Boeing 737-300, G-CELU has been repaired today and has gone onto operate the delayed Faro LS173/174 service's. Meanwhile the current Glasgow based Boeing 757-200WL, G-LSAL operated the LS151/152 Dalaman service's as planned and is now operating the delayed LS189/190 Palma service's this evening.

Hope that helps.

Jet2.com, Boeing 757-200WL, G-LSAL is currently operating the LS158 from Cyprus-Paphos to Glasgow is diverting into Manchester this evening

Don't know the reasons as to why. But would take a wild guess its for operational reasons.

Hello all. Newbie here.I wasn't sure whether to start a new topic or continue this one for my question but im sure the mods will keep me right!

I was travelling to DLM on Thomas Cook Airlines a couple of weeks ago (7th September) from Glasgow and while waiting for my 5pm departure, couldn't help notice (to my delight) a shiny Delta a330 parked at the international stand. It appeared to depart empty at around 4.30pm.

As far as I know, this is an unusual visitor for GLA and was wondering if anyone had any info on why it was there?

Thanks! Dave

Hi Davejl,

Welcome to Forums4airports anyway and I look forward to reading more from you over the months ahead.

I'm not Glasgow based so forgive me for my vague response.

Was that the time of the strong winds? Could it have been a divert from say Edinburgh, or even Manchester perhaps?

I hope somebody can answer your question for you.

Thanks aviador its nice to be welcomed in :)

This was a good 4/5 days before the high winds from hurricane Katia.

She departed from runway 23 at around 1600 and then made a turn due north as if to head over the Atlantic, which surprised me as my guess was that it would head south to position in at MAN or AMS, maybe even LHR.

It was really awesome to see this bird up close in Glasgow, and I'm surprised somebody hasn't brought this up before me. I'd love to know why it was there.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
