Leeds Bradford: Planned Ad-Hoc Charter flights

Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Dose anyone know if Costa Rica's National Football team are chartering anything for their up and coming game against England at Leeds United's Elland Road ground on Thursday, June 7th?

Beforehand they have a scheduled home tie (at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica) against Northern Island on Sunday, June 3rd.
Afterwards they are scheduled to play Belguim in Brussels (at the King Baudouin Stadium) on Sunday, June 11th
They then head off to Russia for the FIFA World Cup.

According to LBA management (via some minutes I received today) the Inghams Holidays' Innsbruck flight for summer 2019 is being upgraded from the current Flybe E175 to a Neos Airways Boeing 737 800.

Humm, As Neos Air are operating the new Verona charter flight on Saturdays for TUI Holidays next summer.

NO6833 = VRN 10:50 - LBA 12:20 / NO6832 = LBA 13:10 - VRN 16:30

Meanwhile according to Inghams Holidays website its still showing Flybe operating as follows.

BE9226 = INN 10:30 - LBA 11:35 / BE9225 = LBA 12:25 - INN 15:30

Quote from LBA Consultative Committee Minutes received yesterday:

Capacity on the summer Innsbruck route is planned to increase significantly next summer with the Flybe
Emb-170 operating this summer replaced by a Neos Boeing 737-800 next summer.

Hurtigruten will offer a Northern Lights fly cruise to Bergen from Leeds Bradford on 13 March 2020

Must be a sign of them selling well, As that's Hurtigruten returning for a 3rd year, or is it a 4th straight year! They have been selling the March 2019 departure for a good few months.

Santa's Lapland have released for sale there Christmas 2019 breaks from Leeds. Flights will operate into and out of Ivalo using Thomas Cook Airlines aircraft.

Departures from Leeds on the following dates.
3 Day Break = Dec 3rd & 19th
4 Day Break = Dec 14th

Looks like specialist tour operator Superbreak has had a change of airline operator. There charter flights to Iceland were originally planned to be operated Polish airline Enter Air, but they are now showing listed as being operated by UK based Titan Airways.

Life without Jet2 and Ryanair at LBA would be very dull with this abysmal line-up from the main tour operators.

Well can you really call Jet2 a low cost airline now-a-days?
There flight-only option is not cheap anymore, and the is no way you can compare them to the likes of Ryanair, Easyjet, Wizz or Norwegian.
The way Jet2 business model operates now, they are more like a tour operator/Holiday airline eg Tui & Thomas Cook.

I don't see what the beef is here. Prior to about 2002 we had something like 50-55 IT flights a week. There are 21 on the above list, but significantly more with Jet2 as they offer IT as well as just flight only. They threw away their low-cost has some time ago and now offer a wide range of products including city breaks, specialist short breaks such as Keflavik and New York, as well as catering for the seat only market, which is important for those who use villas + ex-pats etc. You could argue we have around 200 IT flights a week!!

It is amazing the eye watering prices that Jet2 charge out of all their airports and on most routes. But if people will pay it, good business for Jet2. Their business model has evolved into a version of Tui/Thomas Cook these days, although I hear some anecdotal evidence that Tui are starting to seriously undercut Jet2 on popular packages..I do hope they know what they are doing though.

I count 24 per week not 21 as stated above

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
