Not the best of days for TUI BRS flights today.

Sunday’s BRS-ACE-BRS finally operated today. Of course, the problems in the Canaries were not TUI’s fault but I believe Sunday flights from all other bases were performed yesterday, meaning BRS was affected worse than most.

Additionally, both of today’s flights (BRS-SID and BRS-TFS) were diverted to LPA. The TFS flight has now positioned over to TFS and the inbound may operate tonight. The SID flight is still in LPA though and is therefore almost certain to be delayed until tomorrow and probably around 24+ hours late.

I see 2 of TUI 788 aircraft will be moved over to the German registry at the end on this summer season. I dont know if this is permenant. The airline to get these 2 aircraft will be Hifly

Isn't it TUI fly (i.e. the German branch of TUI)? As far as I'm aware it's a permanent transfer as TUI fly will be starting long-haul routes from Germany. I don't think HiFly is related but correct me if I'm wrong.

The 2x B788s will leave TUI Airways (BY/TOM) for TUI fly (Germany) (X3/TUI) at the end of the 2020 summer season (in October this year) and will start long-haul routes from Dusseldorf for the German arm of the TUI group.

TUI Airways saw 2x new B789s arrive in November 2019. This means that TUI's longhaul fleet will be up by 2x B787s this summer compared to last, and with these two aircraft leaving in October it will mean that next winter will see the same number of aircraft as this winter season.

I wonder if this will mean reductions in long-haul/wide-body short-haul from S21 and beyond (compared to S20 anyway). I'd imagine the 767s will also be due to leave in the not too distant future.

With talk of soft bookings across most if not all airline serving the UK (and many beyond) because of the coronavirus, I wonder if there will be some consolidation around the TUI UK programme this summer.

In some cases it might be like back to the old days with airlines doing split loads on a regular basis till travel picks up.

At the moment there seems to be no retraction or frequencies though early days. Indeed frequencies have been added over recent weeks so suggests that with tcx out of the way demand is there. If like me I would still go on holiday then demand is there. As for gaps I can only see one - weds pm on a 757 so far.

Prsume it is rescuing any Ski Customers who will be in the Balkan Mountains. Especially after the latest FCO advice.
