Here's another video of the 757.

I wonder if any other thread about one individual airline has seen such a myriad of airlines and aircraft as that in the videos and pictures being posted here!

Just thought of an answer to my own question - Monarch :(

Well i kind of thought this trip to the Big Apple would go wrong. A problem with my ESTA although sorted 1 hour and 5 mins before scheduled departure time mean't that they closed check-in, even though they said they would wait. So here Iam in sunny UK. I had to buy Mrs FMTTM tickets to the Foo Fighters as recompense.

Oh dear, it wasn't meant to be FMTTM

Thought I would check out tonight's flight as I saw it overhead just 4 hours late departing. According to passengers via twitter, Stansted was cancelled earlier, meaning BHX passengers waited 4 hours for approx 116 passengers to come to BHX. Great for the Stansted lot, not so much for BHX. Makes you wonder if it was a) planned and b) how bad the BHX loads are?!

If 116 was the total from Stansted their load was not that great either.

And i dont think we can take too much into one day's stats. The real issue will come if BHX (And STN) dont improve over the coming months.

And to be fair the National 757 has performed quite well since the first day nightmare when Brum X didnt get his photo. :rage:

Its happened - All transatlantic flights pulled for 2018 season, just announced

Crisis-hit airline to suspend transatlantic flights
Primera Air is to suspend its transatlantic flights to New York and Toronto from Birmingham Airport just a month after take-off.

TheBusinessDesk.com revealed three weeks ago that Primera Air had made its third cut to its transatlantic flights from Birmingham, despite the routes not having yet launched.

At that time, when Primera had just cancelled the launch of its Stansted-Toronto route because it did not have enough aircraft, Birmingham Airport said it remained confident its services would be unaffected.

But today it has announced flights to New York will be suspended from June 21 “due the ongoing late delivery of its long-haul A321neo aircraft from Airbus”. Its Toronto route, which was due to start on June 26, will be grounded.

Primera Air plans to reinstate transatlantic services next year once the aircraft is available.

United Airlines axed its service to Newark last July, six months after American Airlines ended its services to New York JFK. But Birmingham Airport emphasised the strength of demand following the latest blow to its transatlantic offer.

In a statement Birmingham Airport said: “Since launching New York services last month, load factors have been positive, averaging 70%. This reinforces our knowledge that the demand for flights between Birmingham and North America is strong, with a market size already using Birmingham of more than 130,000 passengers.”

Primera Air’s short haul services in operation from Birmingham are unaffected. It will be contacting all customers booked on services from June 21 to give refunds or transfer onto other services.

Oh dear....

Statement from Primera. A great disappointment!

Airbus delivery delay forces Primera Air to suspend long-haul operations from Birmingham

Due to prolonged Airbus delays of the A321neo fleet Primera Air is forced to suspend all flights from Birmingham to New York and Toronto for Summer 2018.

Further delivery delays by Airbus of its A321neo fleet ordered by Primera Air has resulted in the cancellation of this summer’s scheduled flights to New York and Toronto from Birmingham Airport. This will take effect from 21st June 2018. Passengers travelling before this date will not be affected.

All affected passengers have been informed of this news today. Our priority is ensuring that all affected passengers are compensated in compliance with EU261/2004. All affected passengers have been offered a full refund option as well as alternative travel arrangements from London Stansted. We are committed to handling all passenger queries as quickly as possible and have expanded our customer service team, who are ready to offer immediate assistance and information.

Andri Már Ingólfsson, CEO of Primera Air says: “The plans for the transatlantic routes have been in the making for over a year and both Primera Air and Birmingham Airport have put a lot of effort into promoting the new routes, which were welcomed by the region. Unfortunately we did not anticipate such severe Airbus delays and the prolonged hold-up has forced us to make this difficult and disappointing decision.” The airline plans to return to Birmingham with long-haul operations in 2019, when the Airbus fleet will be delivered.

Primera Air is fully dedicated to providing low-cost long-haul services for UK travelers and our transatlantic services will continue as normal from London Stansted Airport, where we are using our first two A321neo airliners, therefore ensuring operational reliability with our own fleet. Our current flights to Malaga, Mallorca, Barcelona and Crete, our intention to launch new short-haul routes later this year and our long-term transatlantic plans for Birmingham Airport are not impacted by this decision.

We are committed to minimizing any disruption and are deeply sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. We invite all affected passengers to contact Primera Air Customer Service via phone, email or website chat for assistance and more information.

The airlines listed by rollo were no doubt 'frightened off' by the potential competition and perceived domination by Primera's planned daily services to three or more north american cities. We are left with nothing from any airline for 2018

Rollo is right..a complete set of cowboys. There will be many individuals and families whose journeys/holidays etc will be be ruined by this. The dismay this morning will be immense. As for Primera their name will stink for a long time to come.

The dog is about to get a very long walk.

Heads should roll. Whoever agreed for this outfit to oust established carriers like United and American without forgetting Air Transat, what an utter farce. They are complete clowns. Come on United..step in and bring back your established services. I am dismayed at the way Primera have gone about their business.

If United or American wanted to serve BHX they would Primera or no Primera.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
