What is the effect these one season cowboys have on the established airlines at BHX.It would appear quite a
few unfortunate people have booked with them and it seems they are struggling to get their money back and may not be flying anywhere this year.
These passengers could have booked with JET2,Ryanair.TUI etc and been the difference between profit and loss on a
route.
When these airlines analyse their figures at the end of the season and decide to cut back on Palma and the like next year BHX management??? will only have themselves to blame.

I wonder if this could be just them focusing on Scandanavia for the winter and if they might come back in the summer? Did they launch any S19 flights?

Also is BREXIT scaring them off from the UK now that there is a possibility of no deal. It appears France is there new baby

I don't know but they haven't pulled the long haul ops and i'm sure they could get an UK AOC and to be honest with Brexit there has always been the possbility of a no deal and that didn't put them off launching. I wonder if they've stretched there 737 fleet too thin and the loads/yields on the UK in winter aren't as they hoped and they are concentrating on a market they know for the winter in Scandanavia. Guess we'll find out if they launch S19!

This is Birmingham so rather than getting one of Europe's two biggest airlines to finally start giving us some serious growth, we'll end up with another calamity coming along in due course.

It's only a matter of time
Indeed, it's high time for another Wile E. Coyote airline to step into the breach...come to think of it, the plans of the BHX RD team have backfired so often that it might be more accurate to label BHX as the Wile E. Coyote airport :bag:

To Primera...it's been amusing (in the same way You've Been Framed is amusing), but I can only take so much slapstick. The exit door is that way.

I agree Jerry that the Stretched fleet was a factoe. Not a big one. Got too excited and failed.

As for Brexit. Inevitable...who would have predicted such a mess? Doh! But same across the whole of the UK so not sure it is a factor in BHXs current woes.

Wish Primera well.

Or Brum X could of jumped the gun and now i have x2 flights booked to BCN. And i wont have a sense of humour for much longer :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Question to Primera Air
Is my flight cancelled, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Answer from Primera Air
Dear Alan

As I can see in systems your flights haven’t been canceled and will be operated as planned, please don’t trust information coming from other sources.

Best regards,

Sara

Yet Primera emailed this in response to someone else's enquiry

"Unfortunately there are no available flights from Birmingham to Barcelona. We're sorry for such inconvenience."

Left hand, right hand?

Makes you wonder what, if any communication is going on between BHX and Primera...

I assume that the Birmingham slots are still live and until being told otherwise the airport have no reason to believe that they will not be operating. The flights on the website are zeroed out and I cannot find any trace on various booking engines so it doesn't look good at this point but short of Tom Screen calling Primera and saying 'are these flights operating or what'? I'm not sure what the airport can do at this point.

As said, that's purely an assumption and not based on any fact.

If Primera do intend to operate the flights they need to get them back on sale asap then do a nice fluffy interview expressing how much they are looking forward to their winter schedule. If they are not intending to operate them they need to do the decent thing and let people know now before any more damage is done.

.
How many people have booked flights and.have no interest in aviation? The vast majority.
They will not be reading forums like this, presumably will have not have had any contact with the airline since they booked and will be blissfully unaware that their holiday is under serious threat of not happening.
This is a situation that seriously needs clarifying. If it develops as most of us think it will then it is disgusting behavior
by the airline.

There is a conversation on Primera's social media with people who have booked holidays through lastminute.com and have had flights cancelled. As you say, one has to wonder how many more people may end up in this situation.

The common theme is not being able to get any answers from the airline, see below.

Yes, stop selling tickets for this airline. It’s a scam! I want my money back from @primeraair. I’ve been waiting for 2 months now and still nothing! I’m starting a war against them! @donotflyprimera

I retain my idea that the MAG group have ruined it for BHX and ive just seen the final straw drawn

I knew from the day the same routes were launched from STN and BHX, MAG would be straight into saying “oh look we have MAN up north too”

First the sun routes...

Now ive just seen they’ve applied to add EWR and IAD from MAN for this winter

The MAG is squeezing BHX’s routes away from above and below, its doing my nut in

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
