I don't think so, he was in Punta Arenas, in Southern Chile on Thursday.

I guess press releases can be prepared in advance and there is always William Pearson, Tom Screen or David Winstanley if there are any interviews to be done. He wasn't here in person for the BA announcement.

Maybe nothing will happen, we'll see.

I think PK only went on his hols last week so he wont be around next week unless he flies from Chile to Vegas !

According to the Routes website the only attendees from the UK are Manchester, Prestwick and Birmingham, I'm quite surprised at that.

No London airports, no EDI or GLA and after losing direct links last year I'd have expected Belfast and Newcastle to be there.

Unless the website is out of date.

Hmmm.

I think there is the potential for us to hear something this week. It is just potential though so please don't shout at me if nothing happens :)

Was this referring to Monarch? Or still more to come?

Also I don't mean to nitpick but doesn't Vueling ORY start March 26th?

Great list Ray. Thanks for that. Good to see some old routes return...Goteborg, Vienna, Goa, et al. Gobsmacked that Valencia not served at present.

Quite impressive really, especially as some routes have multiple airlines starting :)

Blimey. For many airports having a route destination map like that would be a very impressive achievement. To think that such a network merely details new routes in one year is beyond impressive.

However it is very south orientated and it would be great to see more scandinavian routes. Maybe next year.

I can't see much happening stateside for a while. The Chump in the white house will have a negative impact on travel there.

Canada is still under served and may be the US alternative. It would be good to see Calgary and or Vancouver on the network.

I have given up on China and still believe that Japan should work well. And of course, south America. Underserved across the UK.

Just a point Ray (great work btw) ...whilst we have lost daily AA / JFK Route, We have official gained U2 / EWR as a seasonal winter charter #justsaying

indeed... all people booked on MAN-AMS being re-routed via BCN... I nice 1.5 hrs flight being turned into a 12 hour flight... nice.

Whilst no direct flights are bookable on Vueling.com from MAN-AMS, BHX-ORY still survives

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
