Is there parking space at the Eurohub?

A couple of years ago Flybe had 14 aircraft based, I think this year there will be 10.

Whether the actual terminal could cope with more high load factor 737's is another story but given the current situation turning such capacity away (if true) seems ludicrous.

I think JetBlue will want to establish their presence in Europe first before launching flights to a 'smaller' city such as BHX (in comparison to London, Amsterdam, Paris, etc).

They'll have plenty of A321NEO's so hopefully its just a matter of time.

Another point to consider is that a lot of the stands around the Eurohub Terminal are large enough for Flybe aircraft, but probably too small for Ryanair's 737's. Part of the masterplan is to reconfigure these stands so hopefully once that's done Ryanair may be less restricted when it comes to expansion.

Even if they couldn't accomadate the extra aircraft with Ryanair's vast network surely many of the flights could've been accomadated with away based aircraft fitting in when the based aircraft were away?

But would the away based have the right times and would it involved move lots of things around

True but if they want to expand then i'd imagine they would've found a way to do it.

Yh,before they doing anythink to the parking stands they need two do them old jet gates first I think there have been there since BA uses to be basesd that side off bhx

Has anyone thought what a 3 aircraft easyJet base could bring to the table? Based on each aircraft doing 3 return trips per day, I've concocted the following broadly based on what they've done at MAN:

daily: Amsterdam
5 weekly: Brussels and Munich
4 weekly: Copenhagen and Milan
3 weekly: Athens, Berlin, Malaga and Palma
2 weekly: Antalya, Bilbao, Dubrovnik, Faro, Gibraltar, Keflavik, Lisbon, Marakech, Paphos, Skiathos, Sofia and Tel Aviv

Obviously some of the 2 weeklies could be dropped in favour of making some more 3 weekly.

Some business destinations, some unserved routes and the usual suspects but I imagine there's some scope for more passengers going to these destinations than is currently being offered.

Doesn't this though contradict what I thought I recall you saying Ray last year (?) that BHX should concentrate quickly on improving passenger faciities asap becasue of the traumatic summers of very recent years with the boom? Would they not be in danger of losing the nationally recognized service awards?

It's why I mentioned 'the current situation'.

During the summer of 2017 if they had decided to add four more Ryanair I think most of us would have thought it crazy without significant expansion. Since then we've seen a mass exodus of airlines and routes making BHX one of the fastest shrinking airports in Europe (after Moscow I believe someone posted) so the extra Ryanair could have slipped in nicely. We also have a 40% increase to the departure lounge coming with work due to start this year.

By the airports own admission the current site is fit for 18 mppa so well within limits.

Wow at BHX being one of the fastest shrinking airports... I guess this really does show the proximity to other, larger airports really has impacted BHX badly. Like others have said, until the dreaded B word is out of the way, I can't see much improvement.

I think the demise of Monarch played a huge part in BHX becoming one of the fastest shrinking airports in Europe. Since October (a year after Monarch went bust) BHX has seen consistent growth, even with any potential airlines holding off on new routes/increased frequencies until after Brexit.

Hi there coathanger 16, I agree, 29th March this year will be a deciding date, but also a void that this may have in leaving the EU, remember the EU has been this countries biggest trading partner for a very long time, so by starting the withdrawal process is going to cause a lot of unsettledness in some big companies, not knowing what to do or which way to turn... All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
